Ultimately protection of assets comes down to deter,detect , destroy. So if I'm losing my assets the thieves are also not going to benefit lol.

BT developed ABC (Alarm by Carrier) service as an improvement to the old Direct Line service through the old Home Office panels that were in situ in police stations. This was only available in certain areas, I think Norfolk and Suffolk were two. BT
then further developed Redcare as a national provision as I recall. The service was sold to the end user by their alarm monitoring provider through their central monitoring station.

Hi Fleccy. The problem is ( unless you generate your own power) the single point of failure is the power supply. Taking into consideration the power supply requirements for the cameras and the NVR battery backup is pretty temporary.
WiFi cameras with and NVR can create their own WiFi network so will record even if you don't have broadband, you can access the system via a laptop to view or retrieve the data. You only need your broadband to access remotely. Imagine we end up this year with power cuts like the 70s lol

Spot on Handymandy. 40 years in security industry and I would (and have done) exactly as you did. A blue chip UK insurer tried selling security system as part of a package through a third party supplier years back. Absolute disaster due to the half @rsed way it was managed and the number of complaints.
My one and only experience with a BT "tech expert" confirmed the same for me when I was given it as part of my Broadband package. The bloke wasted an hour and a half, was getting calls every 5 mins and messed up my home network! Sent him away and sorted the mess out myself in 20 mins.
BT need to stick what they are good at rather than offering flowery add ons which generally result in nothing but brand damage.

For me LTI the real money is in the ongoing support as opposed to the sale of modules. With proprietary software\ hardware this is always the case. If the orders continue, long term ( no pun intended lol) this is where the cash will be.

I think we are missing the wood for the trees here guys. The order is very nice but the maintenance contract is for 8 years which to me indicates more to come and a long term partnership.

Hi Colour. Speaking from personal experience I always insisted any company winning my business would appoint a key account manager and it would be costed into the bid. My rationale was simple, a single point of contact to manage any issues upwards within their company to ensure smooth delivery of the contract.
That being the case I would say it's quite promising. You don't appoint a key account manager if there is no likelihood of winning any business in my experience.

Morning ITT. Wth no TU forthcoming I think you're safe for now. I still believe as I have previously said, contract awards to any successful bidders will be Q2/Q3 2023 . Until anything positive arrives I think the share price will continue to drift. I have a strange feeling any update soon will not be good reading unless a sizable order is forthcoming that can be included. Maybe that's what is holding up the TU. Time will of course tell but I'm comfortable with my lot at the minute. Keep listing the alerts, I for one find them useful.

It won't be a laugh when you realise how much lost wages is costing you and the bank manager comes calling. All while the Union hierarchy and supping their drink ,living the high life, still getting paid and taking the pi55 out of you. Not sure who is the more intelligent

Over the years I have worked closely with very senior staff. Very few stay more than 3 years at a company before moving on to, as Colour suggests, climb the corporate ladder.
Perhaps my only regret of working life is not realising earlier, the game of work is on the whole played as thus.....
1) Work you way into a role at a smaller but well recognised company and latch onto someone gullible with influence.
2) Make your own mark by nodding a lot and agreeing with those who have influence and supporting their ideas no matter how crazy they appear.
3) spend the next 3 years or so making your own mark no matter how much havoc you cause, doesn't matter how much you ball5 up as long as your salary keeps rolling in
4) As soon as you learn the influencers you collected along the way are leaving make sure you have the option of a new employer or better still move with your influencers to their new company and enjoy a big pay rise. You may need to take a temporary role or a consultancy short term.
5) Move on ,leave any ball5 up you have made behind,slate wiped clean...
We used to call it the corporate merry go round. I managed to get over 50% of the way up the greasy ladder ,I was one of those who believed hard work promotion and the usual bonuses ,looking after your team interests and the wage rises that ensued for performance was the norm.
Unfortunately it was quite late on that I was told this funfair was in town, had I known earlier I would have bought the annual pass and jumped on the first ride lol.

You can dress the changes anyway you like but something doesn't sit right with me. As you say Colour doesn't sound a happy ending, does sound like Corporate speak for "no comment" to me and it was quick, guess time will tell though.

Before certain parties get carried away with wild speculation about a £2,£3, £4 takeover price just look how
Mr Drahi managed to accumulate a very significant number of shares in BT, which is a Blue Chip company totally under the radar. I would be ecstatic at 45 to 50p which is 3 to 3.5 times the current share price, ITT made a very valid point regarding the losses. Anyone expecting the wildly inflated suggestions regarding the share price at takeover would probably have more chance with the Euromillions. Just saying.

Just remember share buybacks do not guarantee the share price will increase. With an AIM company I would say this would almost certainly not. Colour is correct ,only consistent large orders will suffice. Or of course a buyout which will be nowhere near the price some would expect, as I have already commented.

The harsh reality is the employee accepted the terms and conditions and were clearly happy to. Staff attrition within companies can only be good for everyone, it's what they call a free market, those that offer better salaries, terms and conditions will attract the better staff, it's as simple as that. That is of course dependant on how good and driven the person wishing to earn more and develop their career is. There is far too much dependance by some to have everything handed to them without much effort on their part, the "easy option" as they say.
I believe in hard work and reward , there is more than one way of achieving that ,changing employers being one. I have been there ,done that and still have the tee shirt. If that is the wrong attitude then I'm less than ashamed. The jobs market has never been more competitive. It can therefore only be a case of an employee being ,
a) not being at a skill level to move at the current time,
b) happy with their current contract terms, or
c) cannot be bothered with the effort to change.
