Agree Wonder I was with Merck when the Wakefield issues around MMR were first raised.
I can tell you they were very annoyed at the reaction raised by his assertions which were not based on evidence.The effect in terms of discrediting the wider Vax approach posed a major threat to public health.
Vaccination has been proved to be probably the single biggest factor in improving public health.Some who oppose Vax do have specific concerns but the ones who oppose as part of a wider agenda I have no time for.
An evidence based approach is the way forward imo but anyone who risks their child’s or the wider public safety due to some belief should be respected but should be in no doubt be faced with the consequences of their decision.

You have to separate out the optimistic noises coming out of many of the Vax Company's from the reality of having a safe and effective Vax Within a few months.
Take Moderna the use of 85% of Vax being Approved entering phase 3 trials is based on a normal Approval process taking 8-10 years not 8-10 months so these stats cannot be used as predictors of success imo.
The mRNA is very new technology and unproven and Moderna have a history of overpromisung and then the BoD selling into the stick rise.
Most Vax approaches target the Spike GP and not the Nucleocapsid N protein so miss out on a lot of the immune response.
Most don’t directly target T cells but the neutralising AB approach and it us likely it will be the T cells and the memory cells which will provide full protection.
Most approaches have not been proven to generate long and effective immune responses and certainly not in population subsets like the elderly and these with co morbidities abdvthese are the most vulnerable.
My experience with viral Vax is based in traditional killed/attenuated/modified/ live antigens both RNA and DNA based including the Oxford ChAd approach and it is not as risk free as many would believe.
So testing is here for a long time and Avct does have obstacles to overcome but the fear of having a safe and effective Covid 19 Vax available in the next few months is imo not one of them

Hi C7 the grade I referred to was below.244627 posted as a sell at 0844 yesterday and again exact same figures as a buy at 1650 yesterdayThe price of both transactions was exactly the same and the 0844 trade was a delayed publication.It just struck me it was a rollover as selling and buying or buying and selling the exact same amount at the exact same price seemed far too coincidental.Not trying to draw any conclusions but as you watch the trades closely I was interested in your input.ATB

You make a fair point but my understanding is that if 5 posters report any post then that thread is automatically removed by admin.
If the post is offensive then it should be removed but as Admin don’t actively police these boards they simply respond to an arbitrary request and of course many of us can judge for ourselves whether a thread or post merits sanction.
There is a history here of getting posts removed.

You sum up my thoughts totally.
Bermuda has explained the position clearly re buying on open market/placing and AB124 has raised the point about the issue being debated.
I would have preferred if CH had bought in placing as it is seen as a very positive step.Whether he does or not is entirely up to him and like most things you can argue it both ways.Without speaking to him direct none of us can be sure as to why or why not he chose not to buy.
What I do want is the ability in the BB to discuss this openly and to consider all views not to have a one sided approach where any posts determined by one side can simply be referred for removal by admin simply because they consider them to be from a different viewpoint.
If the posts are toxic and/ or offensive then fine but that does not seem to be the case here.

It probably can be used as a platform for other infectious diseases but the specific issue regarding HIV is more a safety rather than an efficacy one re reverting to virulence so maybe better of using a vector virus approach but if it could be proved to be effective using an attenuated version It could hecOK.
Mind you with the success of anti virals I am not sure the commercial attractiveness of an HIV Vax is that high ATM.

Wise words and as you say often it is best to be a be better second than a poor first as you can build on their mistakes.
Why people worry about the competition is beyond me when many don’t seem to understand the differences between the technology and tests.
This market is huge and no one will have a monopoly.The better players will come through string long term and if you don’t believe we have that capability here I dint know why they are here.

Absolutely I am sure many are in other plays but just keep quiet.I find it amazing that people react so illogically if they only did a bit of research to understand why they invested here.
Look at the arguments a week or so ago about the Medusa website which listed 2 tests the Avct one and the other test which was evident was not AVCT as it was an AB test.
The panic over whether it was an Avct test and the huge number of posts which were just based on a falsehood sure leads to the volatility here.
Just relax guys and either wait for news or do some research so that you can understand any twitter “ news” so you if it is fake or not.
