Think more of a wider market correction towards “Covid” stocks as a result of good news on current Vax yesterday.
Could also be a general reaction to IG increasing margin calls and although I don’t think SCLP was on list could have forced some closing positions

You could be right.
I listened into a Zoom Meeting tonight where they had 3 experts discussing Covid 18 CHIM models and they all highlighted that phase 2 is the stage where 2nd generation Vaccines will be most usefully tested.
As the Govt has 3 slots already booked then they could easily allocate one to SCLP if the p1 results are good

WF absolutely sure we are of the same thinking.
The emergence of a completely new variant that current Vax were ineffective against which none of us want would cause imo Govt to cast a very wide net and throw a lot of money at a range of different approaches to 2nd generation Vax.
However my feeling is that given the excellent Vax rollout and the relative ease to tweek existing Vax to cope with new strains then I feel that the Govt will support the development of 2nd generation Vax like SCLP but not in a heavy way until they demonstrate proven efficacy and superiority to existing Vax

In fairness tweaking a mRNA Vax is fairly straightforward as is simply making a bivalvent Oxford one available.
However once SCLP demonstrate efficacy in trials then that is an entirely different ball park and you will see the full attention of the scientific community on the 2nd generation ones.
That or the emergence of a new strain which fully circumvents existing Vax

Couple of thoughts.
It will be really good to get CH take and thoughts in current situation as he is the key guy in terms of giving news and apart from the oblique RNS we have not heard from him.
As it is a Turner Pope evening I consider it a normal presentation on line with the contract with them similar to what the Proactive ones used to be about as opposed to it being an event especially arranged to give news.
Anyone who has been looking at the scientific discussions regarding the Covid Vax will know the widespread feeling that they need to develop the 2nd generation Covid Vax and that there will be many efforts to support other approaches including a Universal Covid Vax

Nice discussion this morning and as usual there are valid points on both sides.
We fully understand the effect of “ Directors” sells and of course buys on sentiment and SP reaction.
As well as being pleased that Vulpes came in at 5p when SCLP really needed them I don’t recall anyone complain about the Vulpes buys which were RNSd at 10.5 which did a lot to support and reverse the downward trend at the time.
So I am happy either way I recognise the potential conflict with MD as being on the BoD and obviously if he was not the events of yesterday would not be subject to same discussion but equally I am happy for him to remain on BoD as his buys can be helpful to the SP and of course we know who the seller is.
I have been on other shares where it is obvious that someone is selling and remember there will be periods here where demand is not as strong I for one prefer to know who is selling rather than an anonymous seller into every rise who at these levels would probably not cross any thresholds abd if they did May cause even more alarm.
As I say we should just be glad of the big rise here and not get too emotional about the motives of others most if which we dint fully comprehend or understand.

You may well be right but it is a precedent so would indicate a willingness by Govt to provide funding for any potential solutions to combat Covid whether drug or Vaccine
