Burble- echo others thoughts about hoping that you and your colleagues manage to secure funding to continue your excellent work and personally for yourself and your family I wish you all the best at this worrying time.
We all too often forget the human impact as a result of the Pandemic and knock on effect beyond the world of our specific investments.
Like others I hope you continue to provide insight and knowledge here but appreciate you may well have other priorities with your time

Progress the science and fight disease

Nice rebound back today.
Would guess big part of reason of CRUK had very little to do with priority of developing SCIB 2 but a on whether the decision would mean the entire project would be shelved.
The fact that SCLP are fully financed could imo have been part of the decision?CRUK are about progressing projects to fight the science.If they thought there was a strong chance of it happening anyway then they may assign priority to other important projects that may never see the light of day without their support

Probably could have been highlighted more in interims and as you say it would have been much better if CRUK had developed it and moved forward at no cost to SCLP.
But the reality is they can’t and SCLP now have the resources and I do not see it as “ good news” as it is obviously not but it was expected due to Covid impact on CRUK revenues and priorities and hence I was more than happy to add at these levels.
I really don’t get any feeling of why people comment on the wisdom of other people deciding to buy or sell as it is irrelevant and no one knows whether it will prove a good or bad decision as it is a “ calculated risk” and even if the SO goes up 59% here no one knows if any seller redeployed their capital to make 100% elsewhere.
Seems to me you should only worry about your own trades not other peoples as it smacks of being too emotionally involved with any share and that imo is not a benefit

I can understand people selling on today’s news as on the face of it does not look good in the same way the SP rise when it was originally announced.
However it was expected and should in future be developed quicker.The game changer is that SCLP are fully funded to move it forward and we know that the future here will be fully determined by trial results.
I understand that people may sell to deploy the capital elsewhere to possibly gain more quickly and that is fine.
Equally I am happy to use a bit of spare cash to buy more at these levels.
No one is right or wrong in these situations imo as we all have individual attitudes etc and we all have to live or die for our decisions

Funny I took the opportunity at 12.4 but good that we see things differently as that makes a market.
Confident this will bounce back as today’s news was expected and does not fundamentally change outlook here.

Agree I would like to think some development progress has been made in the background by CRUK.Mind you even without the partnership I am not sure how much would have happened within SCLP but has to be more chance of future progression internally than with CRUK at present.
Will try and find out a bit more but see from another RNS that progress has been made in US with recruitment of a phase 2 Combo with Keytruda in a different cancer so be good to see US centres opening up and of course FPI for UK based SCIB1/Conbo

This was just confirmation of what we expected and not sure what if any progress CRUK have made.
Use if Avidmab platform may increase potency if immune response and this does not effect the outcome here which will be determined by trial results

Just catching up and may have missed something.
Was there any discussion about the sudden 2pm UT at 13p which dropped the SP.Easy to see the false drop with the strong afternoon but looks more likely to have been to Instill panic than trigger SLs

Not sure if they decide to go with SN15 it will delay things that much.
My understanding regarding the mutations is that SCLP would have established the assays and tested our vaccine against these variants. Based on the response both antibody and T-cell then for them to highlight SN15 over SN14 would mean they have completed this work.
So I don’t think it is too difficult a job to modify one with the other if they feel that the new variants are a bigger threat moving forward.
The most important part of the critical path imo going forward is the nano peptide delivery system and that is why the Prof Bates tweet was intriguing.
Again the vector technology used in the Oxford Vax is well established and that led to an accelerated development programme but they were already well down that pathway.
So I think the original timeline for the Covid Vax will remain the same and the extra resources will not be a limiting factor

Thanks for highlighting difference.As most of mutations happen with Spike protein this breakdown could be important.
Are you suggesting the increased potency comes from the polymer breakdown into a specific monomer on its own or are you suggesting that in some ways it is then able to combine with another related monomer to form a larger polymer chain distinct from the original one.
Just interested in the science but don’t know anything about this area.

Hi Ray.An interesting discussion.
My understanding is that SCLP are developing a peptide based nanoparticle delivery system for this plasmid in collaboration with the University of Nottingham, which would be more suitable for mass immunisation as compared to the electroporation delivery method (which would work, just not practical).

N James.Yep your explanation looks a very valid one and “ court documents” provide one of the few solid sources of info in this whole saga.
You would have thought if it was concerned in any way about FRR then ZM may have made some effort to rengage with other SH to engender some support but that has not happened and ties in with all his reappearances in Georgia to try and rebuild his life

Am sure this was answered earlier but it requires separate MHRA ethics Approval for the HC studies.
This is a phase 1 using a live attested virus so different from Govt studies
