I don't think you've read my post correctly. Or maybe you don't understand. So i'll elaborate.

IF these tabletop revisions go through IN MY OFFICE there will be fewer duties. The staff in post (people required to do duties) will be reduced. This loss of staff will be unfilled vacancies and loans to management. That means despite giving hundreds or thousands VR recently, they are now employing managers again. Great idea Thompson.
The removed duties, or parts of, will be put onto remaining ones. Thereby increasing the workload by 15%. Thereby increasing daily failures.

I have it on good authority that these revisions are still going ahead. Completion is meant to be at the end of October.
In my office the planners want 341 hours per week taken out. That equates too about 15% of staff, roughly about 11. How odd that the vacancies and loans to management run at about 11 staff.
So, a rough saving of about £250,000 per year. Not factoring in the savings made by not paying out overtime.
The sacrifice? A terrible service which will have failures on every delivery, every single day, going forward.

As i said yesterday, as long as the managers get bonuses and shareholders get dividends, that's okay.
But people will still be waiting for their hospital appointments, birthday cards and untracked parcels.

And we still won't meet our targets, because Q of S will not be met.

Mines the same. The only overtime now being done is by the regulars.
As soon as it's cleared, and it will be, we'll be back on strike.
The number of casuals appears to be rising though. I did post that they get paid £17.55 an hour. Add on agency fees and van hire. Plus, the fact that they are not as quick as us posties. Even the over fifties. Why would they be? Another well thought out cunning plan.

So, an already decimated delivery service, is slowly getting worse. But that's okay as long as the white-collar workers get paid their bonuses and the shareholders get paid their dividends.

You're also forgetting that the customer, the sender, expects this mail to be delivered by a certain day.

I totally agree. And i think Telso posted the same.
Unfortunately, each and every person on strike has to be treated the same.
So, to make things clear, Royal Mail would have to sack all striking employees in one go. Let's call it 80,000. They would then have to cover those jobs. And because we are so lazy, let's say they need 60,000 replacements. All have to be vetted, unless I'm mistaken. A quite onerous task i believe. Seeing as though it takes about 6 weeks to get a new entrant through the door, from interview stage.
Good luck with your hopes for us current employees. It ain't gonna happen.
And good luck with your averaging down. Although the price went up on Friday. So, you'll now be averaging up!

It's odd that you say that COM's are non-ops. When the COM's were about to go on strike all non-ops had to cover.
Also, all non-ops got their vouchers for attending this Saturday. Thompsons words were: " Saturday 1st October is not a working day for non-operational managers".
