I'm sure the people on RM Chat have valid points. But i don't need anyone to agree with me. I have a viewpoint. Oddly enough, i thought that some here would have been grateful for a feet on the ground perspective, as well as news.
Well, every single postie in my office does care about RMG. And the total decimation of what was once a great service.
Of course the company won't die. But i'm certain that you posted exactly that the other day. I had to correct you and say that the PLC would die.
You are also aware that if RMG PLC goes "tights up", bit's will be sold to pay off creditors and the people at the bottom of the ladder (shareholders) will get the dregs of whatever is left. RMG PLC becomes Royal Mail again, under government ownership. You and i still have a job. But you won't be getting bonuses for attending work during IA.
Are you one of the entitled ones who are getting £150 worth of vouchers and a day in lieu if you go into work next Saturday?

Rightly or wrongly, i would suggest that Dowsie was looking for a posties view, as his post would intimate. And he got mine.
As for stirring the pot, i would again suggest that this lies with investors and shareholders alike.
If someone antagonises me, why would i not respond? And vice versa, of course.
I'd suggest you better get used to it, if you're not already.

I think so.
It would certainly give our leaders food for thought.
Unfortunately, this will never happen.
So, Monday week there'll be a massive build up of mail. And eventually it will get whittled down again.
I don't see why the CWU don't propose action on Friday and Monday every week, for both disputes.
Another suggestion that i have put forward is daily strikes, if they are allowed. 1hr 30 minutes per day, every day. Now think of all these posties asking managers what they want them to do every single day.

We still have our casuals though. Strange thing is, they are now being asked to register their finish times, and be paid accordingly. Now, what would you do if you were a casual?
Rush around like a lunatic (some posties) and get paid for 4 hours, or have a nice leisurely drive around, deliver some parcels, have a chat with the customers and get paid for 10 hours?

The difference is that we are on strike.
How long it goes on for is anyone's guess.
But the longer it goes on, the more damaging for the company. And consequently, the share price.
Should next week's IA take place, and further dates announced, how long will it be before RMG take the CWU to court again to avert any more action?

You keep on believing the RMG rhetoric about the massive decline in letters. Of course, there is a decline, but not as horrific as the powers that be would have you believe.
And i will keep striking. I quite like 3 days per week. That makes me a part-timer. Something that RMG have been banging the drum about for years now. But it's never actually worked.
Why don't you lay the blame of failure at the feet of who is actually responsible?
Or are you too stupid to realise where the fault really lies?

Can't wait for the 1 quid party. I'm fully funded and ready to invest. I do hope that dividends will still be paid. (crying with laughter emoji).

You do understand that all RMG staff have a start and finish time?
Meal breaks? Van checks? D2D's? Collection on delivery? Photo capture? Redelivery next day if the first attempt is unsuccessful (currently being trialled in two northern D.O's). All these things and more need to be factored into our working day.
That's the plan.
When RMG managers start too actually use this as a basis for their daily "plans", you may get an idea of how much flexibility there is, in our working day.
Why do you think managers do not insist on staff taking breaks?
Why do you think that staff are "allowed" to come in early? If they had an accident prior to their start time, would they be covered? NO!!!!!

In an earlier post (17.06) you said we were all going to get dismissed. Now we are getting redundancy.
At least i have something to fall back on. As well as my strike fund. Although, that is dwindling.
In the meantime, you carry on averaging down. I reckon a quid a share if IA continues up to crimbo.

And the bit about the CWU not wanting to adapt? I've been at Royal Mail for over 30 years, and that's all that has happened. Have you forgotten the major changes to the pension? These were implemented prior to the company being a PLC.

I'm quoting my contract. And I've never swapped my day off. Unless there are exceptional circumstances.
So, how many casuals are in your office helping to clear the backlog?
Like i said, 6 in my office. So that's about 16% of staff in post for any given day. Now where have i seen that number before?

Since March 1989 i have never broken a strike.
Anyone can work their days off. That's the desperation of the managers. If you saw the state of my office, you may understand.
I think you fail to understand that up to 16% of workforce is lost through 1 day of action. That's why we have casuals.
48 hours' worth plus hire vehicles at 300 quid per week.
How many casuals do you have in your office?
Maybe you need to look at my contract. It does state that i work a 5-day week. Maybe i should take up fishing. It would be harder.
