That was always going to be the case, IMO.
Regarding the % pay rise offer next week, should that be correct: I have an opinion, but that's all it is.
5.5% (3.5% backdated to April) and 3.5% added asap. 3% next year. All dependent on changes, of course. This is my opinion only.
Would i accept anything like this? That depends on the changes put forward by RMG. And i don't believe they will be beneficial or acceptable to me.
So, because i'm not actually money led, then the answer to my own question would be no.
I like my life just as it is.

I'm not sure what members you are talking about, but i'll accept what you are saying. I did post about this the other day and said that sooner or later these would be linked. Let's see what happens here. If these are linked, it could be a poisoned chalice. I speak from experience in my own office, and the acrimony regarding the enforced pay rise was generally because of the managerial bonuses, dividends and the thinly veiled lies about losing £1 Million per day and using it as a stick to beat us with.
However, when you move onto the changes that Royal Mail want to force through, that's a whole new ball game.

As a result the CWU wrote an open letter to the CEO (5.10.22) making it crystal clear that we were willing to meet the business in order to seek a resolution around pay and change together, discuss the RM change proposals, the future of the USO and the businesses attacks on the CWU and executive action against our agreements.

But we are still on strike!

Why would it?

There is nothing at all positive about Royal Mail at the moment. My office is flooded with mail. However, the parcels are sort of getting delivered. That's a positive!
Well, it would be if Royal Mail were not paying out £17.50 per hour for agency staff, not including agency fees. So, probably £35 per hour. 48 hours in my office on Saturday, 6 staff. That equates to £1700 for one day. About 18 posties. It gets better. 1 full york of parcels not attempted, retrieved from the hire vans, and out for delivery again.
Just as well manpower are supplying staff. Very soon you'll have more agency staff than posties!!
What's it going to be like in November? I'm sure that amazon, evri, yodel et al, will still dump the parcels they cannot deliver onto us. The only problem is, we cannot deliver either.

Whose fault is this? If changes, savings are to be made in delivery offices, surely it is up to the COM's to implement this. If it is possible. That is what they get paid to do.

Some shareholders on the other hand are clinging onto D..K and VESA taking over, and making them all rich. While they could sell, i would say that the majority are under, despite the rather generous recent dividends. Twist or stick?

It depends how you view things.
RM said they were losing £1 million a day, compared to the same period last year.
RM said that there is no money for pay rises.
So why would you let the most important people go on strike and lose £25 Million per day? I haven't actually seen "minus any pay savings". I assumed it was an overall figure. I had this discussion with Oli G, yesterday. If you're going to lose that money, you may as well give it to the staff and get most of them on board.

If you have a link of "the minus any savings" it would be appreciated. I can then revise my numbers down to £15 Million per day. Ish
