I did not say they would welcome it. But there was something about the privatisation and conditions set should it "go wrong". Whether or not this still stands, i don't know. But i haven't seen anything that would suggest it doesn't.

I keep hearing that RMG and GLS financials are kept seperate. So, GLS profits won't be used to pay RMG employees pay rises or anything else. But they will be used to pay dividends to RMG shareholders, only. You have said this many times.

GLS profits are not used to fund RMG. Correct?
So, what do you think will happen to RMG if these dismal predictions are correct?

NO!
You do realise that Royal Mail will not disappear? The government will take it back, if it has too.
So why would they let VESA take over the company, and sell off it's profitable parts (GLS)?
Leaving the government with a huge black financial hole that will be filled by the tax payer.
Better to renationalise, pay off the shareholders and keep GLS under RMG's umbrella.
After all, GLS is fulfilling what it was bought for. Prior to it being a PLC.

Exactly what i've come to expect from you. The management took EA (the offensive) hoping the backdated pay would placate posties. It didn't. IMO.
So we're on strike.
I thought i'd post how bad things are already. And they're only going to get worse. Just for information really.

Missing PDA's. Missing pouches. No answer items not booked in. Thereby all redeliveries missed today.
6 full yorks of letters unsorted. 8 yorks of parcels unsorted, which includes tracked items. And just general chaos.
8 agency staff in today to "assist".
Not one single person in my office broke the strike. Shame about some of the others though.

Anti-union but you understand our predicament.
I certainly don't disagree that savings can be made. From the highest earners to the lowest.
So, in line with what i posted yesterday, regarding the cutting of 300 hours in my office, i really do hope it goes ahead.
That's all vacancies wiped out, and all loans to management.
We are failing every day, anyway. So RMG may as well remove the hours, dump another 10-12% of work, internally and externally, on the real workers, and fund our pay rise. But those savings won't be passed on.

Yep. Including the enforced pay increase backdated, and the phenomenal £9.00 i get extra each week. But i've also been getting up some mornings at 2am to fund these savings. Not something i actually like doing, but it's a means to an end. We have early morning S/A. And i'm still working 5 days a week.

And i'm certain that i've never said posties were poorly paid. If i did, i'll retract that statement straight away. But provide proof. You have full access to all of my posts. Don't forget to include the dates.

When we went to CDV's i told my manager it wouldn't work. And it doesn't.
Less time spent walking and scooting instead makes it more efficient. It did then, even more so, now.
The turnover of staff will be to the total detriment of the company. Letters or packets.

Have you heard about the table-top revisions? 300 hours are meant to be coming out of my office and we haven't actually finished the last one. I understand that this is a one size fits all figure. So if you have 50% less staff, 150 hours. I cannot wait for this to happen. The job of the planners with no input from the CWU.

Totally agree. His whole posting demeanour has changed the closer we have got to IA. I'm surprised the price has held up so well. I really thought it would be sub 200p. Maybe the VESA thing has shored up the price. Who knows? But it will soon be 490p on the strength of a takeover bid, i'm reliably informed. I might use my strike fund that i've accumulated (£1,100 for those that are interested) and buy some.

I think that Anger has let this whole IA thing get to him.
It was only a week ago he understood our point of view. This is what happens when money is lost.
Now his idea of utopia appears to be VESA taking over and 160,000 people being on the dole.
He doesn't get what is actually happening and why.
Or the MTSF agreement. Which will surely come into play eventually.

It's called having a life. I'm too busy with work, looking after my grandkids, socialising, to spend as much time on this board as you do. But i'm sure you enjoy the interaction with real people. (This is the point when you pretend to be semi-retired having made your fortune investing in RMG).

You said that the managers would be paid out with the savings from the strike days. I just wanted to point out that you were wrong.

I'm right three out of five as things stand, and you one out of five. So more right than you are, at the moment. But please save this post to your favourites, and rehash it when the time suits.

The fact of the matter is, i will still be in a job when this all blows over. That's all that i'm concerened about.
