@ Anger.
Your 70 million figure is way off the mark. I hope that your other figures regarding your investment here are not that far out.
And talking about figures:
""""Not really? The money the company will be saving on strike days might as well go in to the pockets of those keeping the business ticking over? It’s all good stuff?""""
How much do you think RMG will save per strike day? I'll give you some figures that i believe will apply to my office.
Let's assume that all measured items are attempted for delivery on Friday.
We have about 3,000 items as a top figure.
We currently have 3 agency staff who deliver about 30 items per day each. Yes, they have improved. For which they are paid 4 hours. To deliver all measured items would require 100 staff. So, 400 hours at 20 quid an hour (estimate). 8 grand to deliver these items.
Now, on a normal day, fully staffed, we would have about 42 staff in post. At 90 quid a day, less than 4 grand.
Factor in the 300 quid a week for the van hire, plus fuel and damages to vehicles, and the disparity in costs gets even higher.
I'm not suggesting that the staff attending will be anywhere near that number, but i can't see RMG turning away business either. The backlog will be phenomenal.
Business has been lost, and it will continue to be lost.
I suggest that you speak to your new BFF, Thompson, and tell him to get his head out of the sand.
If you think RMG are saving millions a day, think again.
