4kandles - I couldn't agree more - how sad is it to come on here blubbering about weather delays and then ' steadfastly supporting ' Kerim ( who wasn't responsible for the construction element of our joint venture ) with your post of 01/02/2017 - ' The management ( should ) work for shareholders in any business, If they don't you get them ousted.' Tough talk but totally over the top reaction for the delay - reminds me of various megalomaniac characters from history - did you ever interview for the John Cleese role in hotel management?

heart10_5 - kind of you to make the comparison with AFREN - glad you included utter bull crap in the same sentence as I don't see any indication this company has failed to come up with funds to meet commitments in a timely manner historically - even when there were no serious peace talks taking place. Nobody knows for sure about the lifting of EU Sanctions so forgive me if I don't give your assertion any credence - whilst the content of the C4 programme was harrowing I believe this information has been in the public domain for a considerable period yet the UN and other Groups are continuing their efforts to broker a political solution with the current Syrian Government - as we speak - probably because the conflict has been ongoing for 7 years with suffering on both sides and the displacement of people to EU countries is not universally considered to be a long term solution. If you had said you were so appalled you couldn't envisage any scenario where you would invest I could understand but it seems that this is just an opportunistic intervention to target a 3/4 p entry price!

GoldAnOil - If this were taken into private ownership the T/O rules would minimally apply - see highest price over last 52 weeks on the host page. The major shareholder position is split - see GPX website so if there is not mutual agreement a bid may not be successful - they all know what the asset is worth and what their expectations are - some will have an average way north of current SP.

4kandles - with such a significant claimed holding I would have expected more steadfast support from you - most people don't see the logic of deramplng your own investment but you probably have your reasons otherwise it looks like a schoolboy error of judgment!

Paul280i - watched the video ( many thanks to those posting the link ) - not quite as exciting as the film Gold but some remarkable similarities - particularly the Gold Room - ATB!

goodshare and Shujja informative posts looks like pragmatism is gaining traction.

Urraca - I believe the people of Europe are now more mindful of the consequences of foreign policy decisions taken by their leaders and there is considerable pressure to encourage a settlement in Syria.

Uracca - agree optimists might struggle to make a bull case from that EU holding statement which sounds rather like business as usual - crisis what crisis! Plenty of time for change and observers might want to watch Federica's latest video for a better idea of EU intentions - she is placing much store on the 05/04/2017 EU/UN &Others Reconstruction meeting.

I notice France are now publically liaising with Russia regarding this weeks talks. Informative recent bbc item summarising their view on last 7 years of conflict. I certainly don't claim to know how this will end but I am aware of many conflicts which have been escalated immediately prior to cessation.

Jeffry - the story on this share and the dynamics of the SP movement are a bit more complicated than the average AIM share but every so often we are visited by a poster trying the old tricks to attempt to achieve a lower entry price - good luck to you with that one - you could post negatives on this share all day and still not have exhausted your ammunition but don't let me stop you! Those that understand this share know that lifting of EU Sanctions is paramount and if the UN can broker a deal, which they seem very determined to do, my opinion is EU will fall over themselves to help Syria because it is a wonderful institution but, more importantly, the leadership seems to now understand that they cannot continue to ignore the views of their electorate. We await developments.

Jeffry - the way this share moves a Placing is not a concern particularly as our majority shareholders manage any cash calls superbly.

deeko - our host gives the 52 week high figure which IMO is relevant for a takeover but DYOR. You should study the large shareholders as they are separate interests and I expect each one has his own idea of value and expectations - can't advise the individual averages but some have been here a long time so I'm thinking more than the current SP.
