Billy - when you post ‘ there is no reasoning’ it suggests that I have my mind closed to alternative scenarios. Nothing could be further from the truth. I usually read every post on this board and some complain I respond to too many!

The nub of the matter is that most of the alternative scenarios lack the rigour necessary to persuade me I’m wrong to support the company, the BOD and my investment.

You post regularly on here but they don’t usually extend past a few lines and are not often laced with facts about the company. I’d go so far as to suggest you have lost money on this share and want to blame the management for your loss rather than your own judgment for buying a high risk proposition that performed badly.

I’m sorry for you it didn’t work out but it’s possible things change and the revised portfolio appears salivating to me and I see no reason why I shouldn’t be supportive. I doubt you’ll regain your losses, even if Sintana does as well as Auctus forecast but in that scenario plenty of investors here will become very rich and I say good luck to them!

Billy - I’ve told you before I don’t disclose my dealings on the bulletin boards. If, hypothetically, I suggested I was so impressed with the company, at the moment, that I was now ‘ all in ‘ it’s possible that might influence others to invest.

That would be ok if those people were knowledgeable experienced investors who understood risk/ reward but it occurs to me, from sour grapes comments on this board that this is not the case!

Currently, for example, BOD are being attacked not because they are making bad decisions but seemingly just because SP is slipping back. Readers say BOD should put more news into public domain - I say they would if they could - they are junior partners in most projects, although they know more than you and I that doesn’t mean they are free to release confidential information. Maybe that’s a difficult concept for some to grasp but it can’t just be ignored because toys are being thrown from the pram!

Zag - with your memory of FACTS I doubt you’d get get a delivery job with UPS!

Obviously the transformational Chevron OFF- 1 deal and Mopane completely passed you by - I doubt this is the sort of nonsense even the disgruntled losers cohort would endorse!

Sam - I am pleased to agree with you on possible T/O by, perhaps, one of our existing partners who like one of the assets so much they’ll swallow the rest, like Victor, see link. I’m thinking, already proven Mopane or Uruguay! Most shareholders would welcome the premium .

There may well be someone selling down to depress price but that would be dangerous for this share as highly questionable whether re- entry could be achieved advantageously, once this regains upward momentum. Take your point cash raised puts Company in strong position for the future, with reduced employee headcount following merger. No reporting of Shorting Sintana on LSE site. I very much doubt top management involved due to reporting requirements and it not being in their interests, as substantial shareholders, hence my puzzlement at your scenario posited earlier.

Readers should be aware other scenarios are available, including one that highlights Rob Bose and Eytan buying C$500,000 shares in recent Placing at 22.5p.

Billy - I’m impressed you are calling for more input from me but as I’ve said many times on here I don’t control the SP. Most of my posting is about the business fundamentals, potential etc.

I haven’t seen news adversely affecting those aspects, rather company position has strengthened over recent months with the Exxon $millions agreed settlement and progress being accelerated on Mopane with the Total takeover of the project, not to mention the stiffening of the balance sheet from the Placing.

Sometimes SP weakness can perpetuate selling as some investors believe someone knows adverse information which is not public knowledge. If Eytan reads this he may note widespread investor concerns and issue RNS stating they have no knowledge of why the SP is dropping so that investors can be reassured there is no undisclosed inside information. Just a thought Billy - do you agree?

Stewart - I hear what you say about the SP. I haven’t been counting the beans about sales vs buys since Placing announcement.

A glib speculation could be that some of the Placing participants are still unloading their positions but T/A is not my forte - others speculations are available.

You will all remember the deal dragged on well past Eytan’s original timeline but Sam did he panic or throw his toys out of the pram? - no he didn’t, instead he issued a communique which exuded absolute confidence a good deal would eventually be done.

Despite the positive information there were probably more than 100 posts dealing with naysayers who didn’t believe a deal would be done. Briggsy’s post was legendary but there were many more members of the disgruntled cohort who persistently argued no one would want to deal with minnow CEG, particularly post Bahamas drill debacle.

Billy surely you’re not going to try and rewrite history!

Stewart - I didn’t want to make much fuss of it but reducing payroll costs was another stated benefit of the merger!

Sam - thanks for reminding me about the Trinidad payments - I’d almost forgotten with the excitement of all the other assets, many of which have the valuable Carried Interest benefit, another reason why it’s unlikely to be a repeat of the Bahamas debacle!

Laallee - Sam has hurt me badly with his ship in trouble jibe but I can’t see him bringing the curtain down with those arguments!

Sam - interesting opinion piece and well developed argument, however other scenarios are available!

I agree Sintana would have been examining how they would finance the expenditure commitments on their assets. The most obvious choice would have been a Placing. As you know a Placing is normally dilutive, say 10/15% but as Sintana SP was so much higher then than it is now that would have been a better option for Sintana shareholders, with benefit of hindsight!

Bose, however considered an alternative, merge with CEG and deal with immediate cash needs plus diversify assets/risks further.The terms of the merger were quite generous to CEG and more importantly, they were AGREED by shareholder vote!

On the basis OFF-1 / OFF -3 will be hugely successful and Mopane et al will be flops then I agree 100% that CEG shareholders would have been better rejecting the merger. However, Sam, although you were against the merger, that was clearly a minority view. Eytan had much better information than you and me and a lot more shares yet he was prepared to agree it.

Before you say it’s because he continues on the payroll gravy train I don’t believe that is the overriding consideration because of his substantial CEG shareholding - it wouldn’t be worth him exchanging a seeming thoroughbred winner for an apparent dog!

You assert the ship “ is very much in trouble “ - I’d say that’s errant nonsense. The company has just successfully raised cash to meet needs for several years and is due $millions from Exxon in agreed settlement of Columbia ( which wasn’t a done deal at merger date ! ) . It potentially may raise cash from OFF-3 asset ( presumably one you value highly Sam ) and Bose has already indicated he plans to sell part of OFF-1 to finance drilling there, if it gets green light.

I like to focus on fundamentals rather than SP as I believe one will follow the other given favourable development news. As I’ve said before I’d like to see SP higher but I don’t believe the weakness is due to poor management decisions and I’m comfortable to wait it out and not to be concerned about SP whinging and whining - nothing stopping whiners from selling up is there?

Billy - I’m flattered by your interest. I don’t disclose dealings on the board as I’ve seen that become a distraction. As you’ll know from my history I normally post statements of fact or posts which are clearly opinion pieces.

Readers need to make their own decisions on share purchase/sale based on their own research and probably more importantly their individual attitude to risk.

Oil Exploration is clearly a high risk proposition particularly with a relative minnow but the potential gains can be salivating, which is the perpetual draw. Sintana is a vehicle for allowing small investors to participate in this market and details of all the assets are readily available, along with legendary Auctus report! Unusually in this market many of the assets benefit from Carried Interest, ( contrast with Bahamas Petroleum and their wildcat drill ) .

In summary I’m comfortable with Sintana and expect it to do very well over the next few years. At the moment I believe some onlookers are not convinced there will be SP moving announcements in the short term, which accounts for recent performance, as well as the Placing, but, as I’ve opined previously the market may be surprised if the BOD are permitted to release progress early. We’ll see!

Crazy - thanks for the update on Columbia. I don’t believe Sintana will be affected save that if it helps Exxon it probably improves our chances of trousering the $millions outstanding on the recent settlement.

Looks like oil will soon be jostling Sofia Vergara and ‘ commodities ‘ for position as most notable export.
