Ha ha I jus noticed i'm miles behind everyone with the update. I couldn't contain my excitement! :-)
From today, we are delighted to announce that we will be working with the NEC Group Arenas to offer virtual access to live events in its venues.
Concert goers will be able to access a selection of live events held at the Genting Arena and Arena Birmingham venues, using the power of virtual reality technology, including performances from chart toppers Royal Blood, Irish heartthrobs The Script and the legendary UB40 Feat. Ali, Astro & Mickey. Over the coming months, MelodyVR will also live stream real-time concerts via VR and offer virtual tickets to sold-out shows with the biggest artists, enabling an unlimited number of fans to attend in-demand concerts around the globe.
The concerts, as well as virtual tickets, will be available to purchase via the MelodyVR app, on Oculus Go or Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headsets. Information on upcoming shows will also be promoted on selected event pages on The Ticket Factory website – the official box office for the NEC Group Arenas.
Some interesting news guys...

Hi Optimist. Yes, absolutely with all the filtering you mention. I think this perhaps will already be built into the existing app but will appear when a certain amount of artists have been uploaded. I wasn't sure if you liked the existing App or not. It seems to be a fairly simple but effective app that does the job. I'm loving the wrap around menus in the Oculus.
Hi optimist59, I’m just curious about your app statement. Do you not like the existing or think they have it in the pipeline for an overhaul?
I think it’s going to be very interesting seeing the difference with a screen that’s got higher resolutions. I’m mainly looking at ones with lighting and smoke. I can’t wait to see what a higher resolution / better screen does to the visuals. Does anyone else think that melody are down sampling the content? Or do you think it’s just the current capabilities?
Thats perfectly fine Mr H, I'm not trying to curb your enthusiasm but we need to be realistic. Everyone here wants ERVH / Melody VR to do well as we are all no doubt huge belivers in what MelodyVR has here, thats why we are all so excited about the future.
We will all more or less be music lovers and know the power and joy that music brings. Everyone wants nothing more than to see the SP sky rocket (which it will in time). Everyone is also probably ****ed off about not selling at 18p and re-buying at 10ish lol, I know it annoys the living daylights out of me but I'm in it for the long hall. If only we had a crystal ball!!! If I could I would buy more shares but I'm all currently tied up :-)
I've followed the forum since the beginning, not contributing does not take away my voice. I've read everything from 'Sell your shares because we are getting bought out' to various other ridiculous statements but we all need to be realistic. What you are saying is for sure in the future / pipeline but we are talking years away and with every hardware release will come a step further. The current best advancement we can hope for is some half decent resolutions from the devices. My worry is until then people will come and go on the platform not getting the experience that MelodyVR had hoped for.
Wow Mr H. If thats what you're getting by joining up the dots I'd sure like to see your colouring in books. I nearly fell off my chair with some of those statements. Lets hope any would be share holders / buyers will do their homework and understand what's currently possible and also whats possible over the next few years. VR is still in it's infancy and will take years to develop.
Do I think MVR have already been recording using equipment that allows 6DoF?
MVR have been using their own equipment which is filmed in 8K. You do realise what 6DoF will bring to VR? It will be a far more immersive experience where you will be able to reach in and eventually touch stuff. The animated gaming community will be the first people to realise its potential followed closely by the porn industry then it will filter down through various industries. The bandwidth to run a full 360 6DoF would be pretty special and technology (internet speeds) will have a lot of catching up top do, especially when not computer generated sprites.
Do I think MVR have been doing this for some time, for FB?
I repeat, MVR have been using their own purpose built equipment they have developed over the years which is filmed in 8K. Why they are doing it for FB is beyond me? lol
Why? Join the dots.
I've been trying to join the dots but I'm really struggling to keep up on my unicorn.
As Cunir stated, the platform is currently being let down by the hardware screen resolution. Only when the screen resolutions catch up then we will get a more immersive experience. MelodyVR could certainly better their platform by filming and delivering the content in stereoscopic to make it more real and 3D lifelike. The next best thing on the horizon will be devices that will be able to interact with scents and will give the user a realistic smell.
Captain Kirk... over and out...
I'm pretty sure FB won't be having any supply problems with these devices unless there's unprecedented demand & the Go becomes the next biggest thing (fingers crossed). As said it's device adoption and users that are now needed. I'm kinda struggling to see how Santa Cruise will showcase MelodyVR MrH? Unless they are currently recording and have equipment that can take advantage of the 6DoF or if they build in some sort of 6DoF mimic? The current Melody VR recordings are all monoscopic. If the Santa Cruise has a better resolution then we will certainly get a better experience and this will certainly be an upgrade as this is what is currently lacking from the existing experience.
They’ve definitely got a warehouse full of Go’s. This is why we are now seeing them in Curry’s / Argos etc across the country. If you try order more than they have in stock then they ship them over. I believe the EU warehouse / distribution centre is in the Netherlands where both my devices came from. I still believe they are in soft launch mode while testing the devices / platform on the initial purchasers and the product could possibly be in a one year cycle.
I’m loving all these talks about buyouts. I don’t think there will be any on the horizon and the talk about Santa Cruise coming this year. It wouldn’t make business sense. Most up to date electronic devices have around a one year life cycle. This is for various reasons. Why would they release Santa Cruise this year when they already have a .... load of Oculus Go’s in storage / production. Oculus’s / FBs Target this year will be to get the devices in the hands of people with the most probably happening on Chrismas day. I’m pretty sure we will see a build up of advertising over the next few months. There has been next to no advertisements from Melody or Oculus. People will still be running around daft fiddling with tweaks and buttons. There could certainly be an announcement later about Santa Cruise to enforce that Oculus is the industry leader. It does have to be said as I’ve said before, the updates from Melody have been pretty slim but I’m sure they will have a global domination plan up in their office. I certainly think there could be a buyout at sometime in the future, why would someone want to buy them now? Apart from the contracts. It’s completely a numbers game. The more people sign up to their service, the more a potential buyout is possible. I for one can’t wait to get a hold of Santa Cruise and experience a further step into the VR world.. I think we need to sit back and enjoy the ride. It won’t happen until further adoption of the Go / Mi / Other VR headsets are gaining traction.
This is just an observation from my perspective but has anyone else sort of noted that when EVRH goes up VRE share price seems to go down and vice versa? As if people are loading up and dumping...
Completely agree WhatShares, the technology will be cheaper over time. Smaller, cheaper, faster, better,.... the 6dof will create a whole new game changer platform for immersive interaction, but what Facebook have done here is almost like creating the Apple App store for VR. It doesn't all ride on the price of the units. I really do believe that Facbook will make a hefty profit from the adoption of VR headsets. VR is the future and it's an exciting time to be at the very start of a newborn that will become part of normal every day life in one shape or form. Between AR & VR there's certainly going to be a few interesting years ahead as they discover new immersive boundaries. Facebook really have created a very friendly interface for adoption for all age groups. It's just a case of sitting back and waiting on more users and some great content building on the platform. The possibilities for VR are insane.. Fingers crossed WhatShares!
Absolutely Elkinator, thats what will be happening right now. This would be normal for any company stress testing out their platform. They will be relieved that they are getting the chance to soft launch. There will always be problems with any sort of mass scale tech launch behind the scenes. Getting things right is imperative. They will also be seeing the uptake on the £9.99 a gig and seeing what users come back etc.. as you say there will be all sorts of stats and data getting fed back to them on a daily basis. The price point is something that can easily be tweaked if they feel it needs to be. This platform gives people the chance to attend gigs from the comfort of their own house. I attend a live gig at least every single month and this platform has let me explore music gigs that I would never attend. Who would have thought I'd be going to a BeBe Rexha gig and loving her (PS don't tell the wife!). I've personally bought 5 gigs so thats £49.95 in the pot for just one user (I know its gets split in different directions), but this in the industry is called leverage. Having leverage can but business finances sky high... They haven't held back on their sights and have openly said they want to concur the US market. The licence agreements they have in place are worth their weight in gold. Sure there's a chance there could be a buyout / takeover by a larger guy, this would send the share rocketing :-). Sure I'm ****ed off with the constant daily spiral but this is certainly a hold. As more and more devices / countries / traction come I'm certain this share alone will setup a good retirement fund. What artist wouldn't want leverage from their concert with an infinite amount of viewers. It's a no brainer... This will become the norm in a year or so... my moneys on the Oculus Go having a good take up at Xmas and the Santa Cruz pushing for main stream.
As previously stated, I believe the content is filmed in 8K and the current hardware is miles behind, but it's not jus the hardware / internet connection that to do with the quality it will also be the hosting server / content delivery network that's providing the content to many users at the one time. When the hardware catches up MelodyVR will reach its full potential. I'm an avid user of the App on Oculus and was a bit taken back by the lower resolution but this doesn't worry me in the slightest as there are currently so many variables that at play. Having the original content captured in high res means 'things can only get better'. http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/melody-vr-music-interview
Hi guys, been a spectator of this site and share for a while now. I'm a current shareholder and like many are very frustrated with the complete lack of activity. I'm a director of my own website development firm. TBH theres nothing currently I see that frightens me apart from the downward spiral and daily price checks. Sure if I had sold at 18 and re-bought I would be sitting well happy, who wouldn't? There's a few things I'd like to bring to the table from a technical prospective. Currently MelodyVR isn't available for all countries and seem to be having a lackadaisical approach. I just want to bring to everyones attention that the platform for streaming VR content needs to be an absolute heavyweight. Up until this month it's only really been tested in a closed off beta. MelodyVR will currently be monitoring the performance of their hosting and technical requirements while there users are building up on their platform. If they where to launch on every platform all at the same time it could be catastrophic to their business. IMO they will be building up the users to stress test the system and it's capabilities. The thing we need to remember is that they have some pretty heavy weight licence agreements in place and their current recording technology far outperforms any VR device that's currently on the market, in layman's terms this means that their product will only get better as higher resolution devices are released. 8K recordings are pretty advanced and super crystal clear HD. The bandwidth to stream an 8k video would be colossal. At present they will probably be messing around with the quality / compression ratio for the best results. If anyone had to watch a concert and had experienced choppy loading times or buffering then it would stop users from using the app. So in my eyes they are currently just starting the tight rope walk. Every concert I've watched has been rock solid apart from the current resolution. Yeah it would be ideal to select the resolution depending on your internet speeds, or have an advanced switcher that auto switches depending on bandwith avaiable. At the start I was really let down by the experience but the more I watch, the more it start to makes sense and the more enjoyable it becomes. Why would you want a pit left, pit right etc... well after testing there's a few main reasons. It certainly makes it more immersive and realistic, but if you lie down with the VR headset on then you will get the jump spots and what they are trying to achieve. This product is in its very early infancy stage and will be a learning curve for the team. There are a few facts that you need to hang onto. This app if done right will only get better... They have the content, technology and team. I'm also very frustrated with the lack of communication and sit and hope for the day of a first live stream. The possibilities of this app going in high one direction is very real.
