Yeah I just saw checked. This is from 2016 in way back machine.
If this is suppose to be new why the heck would you show such low resolution shows. This would put me and countless others right off. If they want proper doe then it needs to be industry leading from every angle. This surely has to be old!
"who for the first time have been able to see visuals and "mockups" of the new combined App in advance of our beta launch."
So no app in Q4 that's a surprise (NOT)! "Mockup"... that word right there is really worrying. So some parts are still sitting at the design only stage and not coded. So Beta launch also hasn't been reached.
There seems to be a lot of talk about the app coming out that will be revolutionary and a complete game changer etc.. you need to remember that just launching a new app wont automatically bring people.. Why would anyone move away from Spotify £14.99 family price when Napsters like $19.99 for a parent and child. You can have the best app in the world but if your marketing or price point is off you can forget all about new users. So if they have this money to bring out the new app... where does the money come from to market it?? Again I see a further dilution or fund raise probably not far away to the app launch. A fairer system is certainly a great way for the stars to advertise but I see no evidence of this at all.
Well that’s interesting.... I’ve just had direct contact from MVR who want to speak to me directly about my experiences. Looks like they’re doing a bit of market research with their paying clients.
Today I've pulled all my shares. TBH I've just had enough... while watching my other shares rise MVR is the weakest link. I know the potential and I've been invested for around 4 years and it's been a pure rollercoaster of a ride but now I've had enough. I'll be keeping a keen eye on the share but probably wont come back in until theres some substantial news. The app is the defining point for me when I could be coming back in.
TBH last year was a let down when this share should have been FLYING! It was great having the free concert series but after about the fourth one it was almost the same and became very modular. We should have been a household name. I don't care how big the people are in charge of marketing they made some serious errors. The Liam gig was great but I had technical issues and it was just to fiddly (coming from a techy). Until they sort out these issues or are pumping out concerts on a weekly basis I'm staying away. The defining moment for me was seeing the most lucrative time at Christmas disappear without even a whiff of a gig. You would have thought they would have been seriously in bed with Live Nation pumping out the gigs when there will be HUGE DEMAND. Buying Napster is great but I think it just goes to show the vulnerabilities and confidence in the product. They never rolled out the subscription but if the plan is to get users my music streaming with also access to VR then I'm sure if the experience is even remotely near Spotify then this is a no brainer. For now though... I wish everyone all the best for the future and I'll keep a close eye on things.
Hi Puddin1006, I like you had buffering issues which was a complete disaster for me... sitting with the wife (half drunk - not me lol) logs on via the chrome web browser and just buffered really badly. I've got an amazing setup and I know what I'm doing. This shouldn't happen. Especially more so with a prerecorded event as you are just be using a really good content delivery network to distribute the load. There was a bad seed somewhere. I managed to isolate it to their browser so must have been a server issue or bandwidth issue. I'm running my business from my house so I've got really excellent speeds. Eventually I found out that the problem wasn't happening on the mobile phone but there's no way I'm watching on that or the headset as the wife was looking pretty hot.... Restarted, logged back in etc... but what I can say is.. from what I could see the production looked amazing and I so wish there wasn't any issues for me. It would make perfect sense to release a good lineup before the stock comes back online. A complete night wrecker but good things to come... as someone said a deal with Prime or Netflix and you're sorted. You need to be able to cast to your TV as I read so many people had issues with this and having to connect laptop up with HDMI sockets... It's got the potential to be HUGE... this company still manages to put me through the roller coaster on a daily basis even though they are starting to gather pace. Who's next?? Oh Puddin1006 that perfectly normal and what you'd expect. When the gig is on more people will download an app... these charts only work over a short time period. The next time a good gig is out it will do the exact same. Hope this helps...
So... Frank Carter & The Rattle Snakes you say! Superb concert... very refreshing to be a part of the main event. The show really was on another level and what a great way for bands to interact with their top fans. From start to finish the show went flawless (kind of). When I say kind of... the stream only buffered once for around 2 seconds at one point so for me this was a vast improvement and a relief. So the Brixton Academy was the backdrop with the stage facing inwards being the main attraction. This ment that Frank was performing to his fans (what a great idea). It did take the level up a notch and you certainly felt part of the whole experience. I certainly got up out my chair, waxed my dancing shoes and pulled a few proper cracking dad moves.
THINGS NEEDING BRUSHED UP
This is my honest assessment. I'm pretty sure Simon Cowel and Craig Revel Horwood would say the exact same
You can see the camera stitching at some points and it goes abit funny!
but the main factor is...
THE DIRECTORS CUT!
The director needs cut. Arguably the best view of all cameras but the director should apply for a job in Aldis. While it's certainly the best view, there's a lot of things really needing brushed up on. It was great to have the directors cut as the default option, I've never understood why they made it the last camera option in the app.
Below are just a few things that I picked up on.
1) The 360 VR camera on the track needs to have motion to track the singer. Even manual motion.
2) The track needs to be much smaller. It's like watching Thomas the Tank Engine roaming about the stage.
3) The director needs to WAKEN UP to the best shots and what's generally going on + what will be the main focal point that everyone wants to watch.
4) There needs to be a faster switch between the artist talking to a fan. Either there's too much A.I involved... someone needs to learn to push the button for the camera switching faster or they should be publicly named and shamed.
Listen.... i'm just a perfectionist, the interaction with the fans was next level and the VR mosh pit was pretty enticing. They had technical issues with the fan connections which was a bit of a shame but the ones that were talking just made the show feel even more personal. Well worth a tenner and can't wait for the next one.
The band said that they would love to do a world tour.... kerching.. that would be superb and only have fans from that area on the screens.
Boom... see you ticket touts and here comes fairness..
Let the ball keep rolling... they don't make it easy on the investors. lol my hearts been broke many a time...
Obviously as their tech get better so will some of these points.
Well today I am the proud owner of an Oculus Quest 2. As you can imagine straight away I fired up MelodyVR to see if there was a noticeable difference... after many hours of watching concerts and swapping from one head unit to another.. I can confirm that the difference isn't really noticeable. I have a funny feeling this could be to do with the downsampling of the stream and they aren't pushing out a resolution that the device can handle. What I am interested in is the difference in a live gig. The live gigs seemed to be getting pushed at a slightly higher resolution. This is unconfirmed and only my suspicion. I was hoping it would bring a new level of clarity to the table but with the current settings it currently doesn't bring anything to the table apart from a more lighter unit. I'm still waiting on delivery of the new battery head strap which balances the device out more. I'll report on the Quest 2 once I've caught a live gig..... which might be in a months time!!! Crazy when there's a HUGE THIRST for live gigs.
The shares are currently suspended until the buyout with Napster is complete.
Thats great news about Frank Carter. Me personally, I was hoping for a gig much sooner than a month away ;-(. I'm sure it will be a fast moving space now Tidal is underway with a similar project. I've been away since last week., did anyone manage to catch the Tidal - Charli XCX on the 9th that was in Oculus Venues?? I was hoping to catch it but wasn't in a broadband area. I can't see anything about it online? Do you know what I was just thinking there... how good would it be if the Tom Grennan gig was used to promote MelodyVR and the Oculus Quest 2.
Ha ha love it pudding. 100% technical issues causing the buffering. I was watching on Oculus Quest and talking with a friend who was also watching it. He had the exact same issues. I also checked the phone from an independent connection not on Wi-fi. Toms was outstanding... probably the best start off and introduction to proper VR concert. The good news is when other artists see this it will probably be on a quest or quest 2 and it will be the recorded version with no technical faults. It’s just a shame there was the elephant in the room because it really was outstanding. I will purchase the full live series. More than happy I’ve got every share I own now in MelodyVR!! After the series and the shares open up I expect a massive increase in share price.
Well... what a gig... unfortunately it was marred a little with Melody bandwidth issues on the last 2 tracks. The ‘directs cut’ editing guy went to the toilet at some point..it was spot on a had the complete WOW factor for the first 50 odd minutes but I have to say if it weren’t for the technical issues they smashed the ball out the park. The production was top drawer... the lighting, staging, effects and sound was out of this world and bang on the money. I believe with the live gig price you don’t get access to the recorded version making me more than happy to purchase it.. they should give this away to all the payers of the live gig either that or make the tracks that had technical issues free to the purchaser. If they iron out WTF happened for the 2nd gig then this will go straight to the moon. Especially if they had a huge big hitter... At last, something good out of Covid.
You would have thought with just 3 days to go that Tom Grennans website would be screaming about the performance...

Hi Guys.
The partnership doesn't worry me in the slightest, as people have said competition is healthy and proves there is demand. Why wouldn't Facebook want more content for their device / venues. FB have spent a fortune on developing VR and will be a serious loss maker for them until device adoption is where they need it to be. The great news is with the new pricing structure of the Oculus it really does make it a very interesting prospect for a Christmas present. I would have thought they would continue the Quest 1 sales at a lower price point.... for them not to do this it means they don't want people having a lower experience than they would get on the Quest 2. The Quest is awesome so can't wait to pickup the quest 2 on sales day. It's the resolution in the MelodyVR app I'm more interested in to see if it brings it more real life like. Our relationships with FB is still strong as like many developers Facebook have been helping to bankroll app development. This is a long game by Facebook. It basically wants to build an eco system similar to the Apple App Store which has been hugely successful for Apple. We have HUGE positive things coming... hopefully after the successful Tom Grennan gig things will really start to unfold quick. Live Nation needs to start bringing in some serious money again. Licences in place, venues in place, access to top artists, paid for live concerts on the horizon, Napster buy out with huge library in place.... for me this is the time.... roll on November... lets see this hopefully go through the roof.... It's just a shame the Oculus 2 isn't out before the Tom Grennan gig!..
Very powerful and certainly the perfect storm.... Quest 2.... live shows.... things could gather pace pretty fast. Fingers crossed this is the time... if they can't do it now, over the next 6 months.. I've seen enough... but I believe there's big things to come... If they smash the first interactive gig word will hopefully spread like wildfire....it's sad to say it but the second wave should be like a wave for us,,,...
Hallelujah to that Puddin1006
The Oculus Quest 2 looks amazing, especially the resolution...
Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor
6GB RAM
Nearly 2K resolution per eye - over 50 per cent more pixels than Quest 1
3D positional audio
New controller ergonomics
Optional 256GB of built-in storage
This has got to be a winner and is a certainty for an xmas sell out. Main strain just got one step closer when they drop the price of the original quest...
So it was Grant Dollens from WANdisco the bought a chunk (again).
Todays news for me is interesting... not so interesting it's locked up the shares for a sizeable amount of time. I've heard many people compare MelodyVR to Spotify in the passed which TBH I don't like because the two of them are completely different services. But what MelodyVR have done here is opened up their platform to be used more freely. Currently it's crazy to play VR music on any device / in your car, your phones only going to get hot an use plenty battery.... the possibilities are now endless and the end game will be the 'go to app' for music / events meaning we can now even be played in cars / in the house on any device. It's interesting. This possibly will bring MelodyVR's name to the forefront almost overnight to a base that currently probably don't anything about them. To me eventually it's looking like this could go toe to toe with the big guys once we are fully rolled out... don't get me wrong... it ain't going to be easy combining the tech but it can bring subscription to the services in a very short space of time...
Wow.... I've been sitting here watching the clock tick away waiting on the live Brixton concert series being released and if I dare say so would have been the catalyst for me to keep my investment in or not. I'm a long term investor thats seen the highs and the lows...lately I've been losing patience with many shares constantly moving north while this has been moving south or having non existent movement. Especially even more so when they should be banging the ball out the park and taking advantage of this unusual situation. I certainly didn't see that one coming in the slightest. Certainly exciting and worrying times but an acquisition of an existing brand is certainly interesting.... with Napster owing huge amounts and MelodyVR losing huge amounts there has to be something HUGE in the pipeline we just don't know about. Why would a company thats not making money and currently struggling to make any real traction, buy a company thats also not making money... In the bigger picture all screams out subscription based live gigs, music and theatre me... Listen its going to be a few months of less stress for me not checking the share price at least three times a day. Usually when there is an acquisition of this sort we can hopefully expect a very good rise on the other side.... what a great way to pick up existing subscription base and also bring a substantial new offering to the table. Lets hope we have deep pockets!
