Hi Ferrisc. Yes, you can obviously access it from a mobile but what’s the point. Just look at free content on YouTube? The whole point on MelodyVR is VR. I think the clue is in the name so doesn’t need explaining. Cheers
"Yes the technology is new but Hobbit, were you one of the people that said CD's would never replace Vinyl?" funny you should say that because Vinyl has made a full turnaround. I think your showing your age with the TV / Radio one Patebo. Your talking to the wrong man trying to bet what I said Patebo.. I'm a man of the future not the past. I totally get it though...... There's s difference between listening to audio. This is different... this involves 2 of the seven senses rather that 1. This is part of the whole immersive experience... as soon as they start lumping smell in there (in development) then boom... then after that touch and feel and we are almost there. This is why MelodyVR is one for the future. You can still believe in the company but you do have to admit though their communication and timing seems to be way out.
Hi Guys, I think we need to be realistic about this. Comparing us to Spotify is comparing apples with oranges. I understand the analogy and do see the potential, but there are massive differences between Spotify / Melody VR. Let me just label a few so we can have a grown up discussion about it.
1) Spotify is freemium, MelodyVR is premium (hence why they can pick up so many users).
2) Almost everyone will have a device that can play or integrate with Spotify.
3) Spotify can be used on public transport, in the gym, going out for runs, in cars while driving, in the house while doing housework and sitting on the grass drinking beer etc etc. You need a VR headset to access the MelodyVR content. Although MelodyVR have produced a low cost headset.... you still need to view the content rather than just listen.
The above is just a few quick simple reasons we will never have anywhere near the user base of Spotify. Where MelodyVR will pick up their massive users is when they starts streaming live festivals / events. People that can't make the festivals will want to experience the same set as their friends / other people.
Everyones currently getting excited about very small amounts of users on social media. Th engagement is terrible on all channels. Likes and followers are nice but it's all down to the downloads and user figures. MelodyVR already have some big names on the platforms that they have already engaged with them and their social channels.. some of these are really big names and we have had little effect. WTF are they not saying 'hey Kelly Clarkson, Imagine Dragons etc.. now is a good time for you guys to give us a little tweet back to our content'..simple simple stuff thats already there that can be generating users and revenue... It's almost as if the catalogue is a second thought...
At times I’ve wondered if MelodyVR will end up being more of a VR Production and Events company. If they organise a concert like live nation do then they really own the rights to broadcast the concert in VR as they will be the creator of the content. This may also mean they would have an input into the dynamic makeup of the gig that would make the VR viewing far better.
I don’t think Twitch really works like that. It’s up to the artist / management companies where they distribute their content unless an artist was tightly controlled. YouTube / Spotify / Radio etc all pay royalties. I’m not right up on twitch but believe it works off some sort of donation. So if artists put their music up there people can give them a donation. Please anyone correct me if I’m wrong...
That should say *control
Oh sorry Embers I forgot to add. The experience is superior when MelodyVR co trip the staging and the lighting / setup. These things have a huge effect on the end product. If you watch Emeli Sande or Liam Payne you will see they are miles apart from concerts they haven’t got full control over.
Hi Embers, yes, the Oculus Go runs a lower resolution (2560 x 1440) than most phones. The Oculus Quest runs a slightly higher resolution (1440 x 1600 per eye) giving you a slightly better experience but still a good bit off where it needs to be. Things will get better as the technology progresses and I believe the concerts are all filmed in 8k which means they are pretty much future proof. As the devices get better so will the experience. For me it is pivotal to get near life eye experience to hit the jackpot. This is why they have made a good friend in the MelodyVR viewer. At £20 this is a good way in for the masses at a good resolution. The bit time immersion only comes into real strength with devices like the Oculus Quest when you have a lower window effect. VR pickup has been a lot less than they expected so are having to diversify. Facebook are really pushing the VR boundaries. All I can say is thank god they have a virtual bottomless pit. I’m sure this will pay off massively in the end and the global pandemic only reaffirms this...
Nice buy.... fingers crossed it’s a sign TheBadBat is right once again....
I just found a bug in the board!!!! Thank god I copied it that time...
What AM has said is that 'We have locations where we're all geared-up, and we're looking to have those geared up for the duration of however long this continues so artists can come in an create content either live or recorded.' This to me means they're all tooled up and ready to rock n roll.
They've got the venues, the staff, the experience, the equipment, the contracts, the talk... now it's time to walk the walk. Shortly countries will soon begin the relax their quarantines by opening up smaller shops and certain sectors... why not strike while the irons hot... when people are in their homes with nothing to do and looking for an opportunity like this for a bit of escapism. To me they should release a live gig with a big name / names and make it completely we free. We have everything apart from the users. Unless of course due to restrictions they need to wait until this time when quarantines are relaxed. They've really only released a few recorded gigs while the demand for their product is HUGE. You would have thought they would have had a lot more content released while there are paying customers waiting for it. We can only hope there's a big reason that's about to drop any day and the path will become clearer. Not having the festivals will be a huge setback for them as I'm sure we would have been very surprised of their coverage of lots of festivals. This will have taken the huge revenue stream away from them as the £1 - £1.99 per act would have been a winners in my eyes and having this content would have been superb for subscription as they filmed it as per their contracts. I know I would have purchased loads...
There was a lot more I had to say but currently frustrated at looking my message lol :-)
What AM has said is that
Hi A1EX... loving the list BTW! Keep up the good work.
I certainly don't think it's naive when Melody has been on the go for around 6 years. Also, things are already setup. What AM has said is
horse.mouth is a believer in the product and future technology. We all know the way this is going. I don't think there's anything wrong with calling the board out. A1EX... horse.mouth saying this because we've seen it before. Now is the time, every day that goes past after the RNS release I'm sure hourse.mouth will be getting more frustrated. He's certainly no foal.
tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock,
Never mind 5's... would be great to get to 6's or above before the news! Then up to 8 from there... Let's see if the big money pots start creeping back in.
Couldn't agree more mel5! Good night...
ha ha thats so funny you said that Cunir.... I've also laughed at this many times thinking what? With the amount of dips over the last 2 years you must have some amount of shares. I can't work out if it's to make you feel better when looking at your average cost per share! Me personally, have managed to increase my share amounts x 4 by having added no extra funds. Although I have to admit I did add a few when we reached 3.2
"It’s no coincidence that the negative ones on here are the least researched." Never before have I came across someone so arrogant, what a good trait to have. I'm sure your 'many friends' would agree. Clearly a banker if I've ever seen one and my guesses are usually spot on.
I'm fully aware of Melody's agreements but thanks for letting me know. I've been a holder since the early days. Some people have a right to be ****ed of seeing the share going from 18p to almost 3p. You seem to have blinkers on and only seeing your own path when there are many others. Not one single person is saying this is a bad share. People have a right to question the board. The great news is to all new investors and investors thats lost a lot..... this is the perfect storm. Im sure there are lost of existing investers that would love to have came in at this price.

Apple don't just make a move on a whim. This fits clearly in with their Apple TV / Apple Music eco system. Lets face it... one thing we don't have is users / followers while apple have them in complete bucket loads in every corner of the world. The largest tech company in the world doesn't just buy a company for fun. Apple is miles ahead in AR as the world will be about to see soon. The stuff they are creating is mind blowing. It only makes sense for them to purchase a VR company that they can quickly mould into something large. I think we possibly have the next 6 months to a year to pull the socks up and start cornering the market. For you reference.... theres a difference between negative and being realistic.
The thing that gets me is the Roc Nation contract says ' virtual reality content featuring Roc Nation artists, covering both record label and publishing rights. As part of the relationship, MelodyVR will receive the right to create and distribute content created with Roc Nation artists for an exclusive period, followed by a period of joint-exploitation by both parties.'
We have 3 venues where we create the content and no doubt we now also have cameras in venues throughout the country. We have only really had a live broadcast for one closed off gig that we created the content for (monetised) apart from the festival and Good Morning America & country stuff (free). We have still yet to broadcast an actual live singular gig in a venue that isn't ours. Why would there be a crossover between the live gigs and the recorded content?
Lets hope this is the week for some real good news that will send the share price rocketing.
Hi Petebo, I believe that NextVR still hold the 'Live Nation' which have a massive amount of huge names signings. So I would certainly classify them as a big threat.
I'me having trouble understanding you mate. You don't make any sense...
