Golferboy - to be clear I am very far from wedded to the Graniad (I like to read news from a variety of sources) but it’s hard not to question some of the decisions around appointments and contract awards so far, indeed, as troublesome’s link shows, it’s not often you’ll find the DM and Guardian in total agreement! Let’s hope that some good decisions are made from here on in, maybe HAS is showing the way!

I’m feeling gloomy after reading George Monbiot’s piece in the Guardian today on the whole track and trace fiasco; appointment of Dido Harding, Serco failures, award of £133m contract to Randox for potentially dangerous tests, £108m gone who knows where...the government really need to get it sorted and fast, select companies such as Ncyt that can truly deliver this time. I can’t say I have much confidence based on the evidence so far though...

I only just registered here but have been reading this board for a while and would like to thank eveyone for the amazing research and information that has been undertaken and shared (especially ShaunP!).

I registered to share a tweet that caught my eye. @RP131 is a statistician (brilliantly) tracking covid data and putting it it into easily understandable context on Twitter. Yesterday he highlighted the fact that the number of test results returned the same day as the test was carried out increased dramatically from previous pattern - it would seem that more efficient tests must be coming into wider use. Could they be Novacyt’s?
