Re tweets (RT by Tay) ...upon the award of whatever it was tonight, NCYT was described as ‘producing more than 10 million tests a month’, presumably a statement which had been approved by GM in advance and which matches what is known. But GM is famous for understatement and also said in another interview/statement that capacity has increased 100 fold this year and we know that around March, capacity was 200,000. So output must be somewhere between 10-20m per month.

ShaunP have you seen all the speculation about current levels of turnover tonight (following the award Ncyt won)? Estimates seem to be £150-£200m a month is a real possibility? How would this affect your modelling and valuation if at all please?

Sh see what seethree says about close periods. The only other time a director would not be allowed to deal is if they knew of price sensitive information that everyone else didn’t. So NCYT could win a massive tender tomorrow - they may know that it is due for a decision, but they don’t know the answer, therefore ok to trade. Principle of perfect information.

Microgen does lots of LFT’s and there is a hope that they may have one in the list of 6 that they haven’t publicised...it would be an obvious and presumably easy test for to add to their range...but at the moment we have no LFT for covid, that’s correct.

IMHO the fact that Numis released their note again today reiterated the fact that yesterday’s vaccine news make no difference to their forecasts and target prices. That is why no rns was necessary (rns isnt there to support the share price it’s to make sure information in the public domain is disclosed and not unrealistic. You can bet that GM discussed this with Numis before they put that note out again today.

Just thinking on this, surely before anyone receives a CV vaccination, they would first have to test negative? Unlike flu jab, where symptoms of infection are evident (and I don’t believe they will give you a flu jab if you are feeling ill), individuals with covid are as we know, often asymptomatic?

It’s outrageous that it has taken the government so long to recognise the importance of vitamin D, such an easy, cheap improvement to make to health (generally - not just covid).

Horrendous..they appear to have had an ‘Excel moment’, so positive test figures yesterday hit almost 87,000 (need redistributing to actual dates) - not good and they have tested only just over half the number of people per m population that we have. Also, just to add, identifying RSV, which Winterplex also does, is also important (particularly in children as I understand). If the Winterplex failed to pick up any of the 3 then it would likely be ‘just a cold’. In a clinical setting, especially if the predicted covid/non covid areas/buildings are established then a multiplex test would be invaluable when deciding where to admit patients.

SteveV the issue with LFTs is false positives rather than false negatives. So if you get a positive from lft then you can confirm it with a PCR test. It’s the LAMP tests that had false negatives which are, as you say, a big issue and it appears that for this reason, they are not being used in the Liverpool project.
