Conversation with advisers would have gone along the lines of "what part of this is true?'.
..we know Norfolk HA had issues with equipment/staff required and that is actually the only trust that is named (convenient vague use of 'including Norfolk', you can bet your life if the journalist had others he could name then he would have)
..is the rollout being halted? No - government has clearly refuted this
...are there problems with accuracy? No, government has also stated this.
...is the contract being reconsidered by DHSC? Not as far as we are aware, so company cannot comment one way or the other
No RNS required based on any of that
Then today, has the share price dropped dramatically, apparently on the publication of the article? No, appears v similar to last week - so no need for clarification to correct misinformation in the market.
I know we are all desperate for a positive update from the company but it should come when they have real news to give us, not knee jerk reactions to any bit of press or rumour that might surface. They could spend half of every day dealing with that (imagine if they were responding to all the bits of news that we believe are positive, even this weekend, Spain, Germany etc). That's not the purpose of RNS or the remit of the company.
