Falkland, appreciate your reply, and understand your logic banking a big profit. I sold in January when things were not looking good with 2nd lockdown. Bought into Aviva in February and made a good gain since but would have made more if I stayed put with Lloyds. Sold Aviva last week and bought back in here thinking maybe a better prospect for growth with PPI and Brexit finally off the table, and easing of lockdown. Time will tell.

What happened to not selling before December 2021 or 70p?

You have contradicted yourself with this statement! Why should they get a second referendum? They had one in 2014 and the result was NO. So that should be it, if as you say you believe in DEMOCRACY! After all there was no second referendum on Europe, was there!

I am English but live in the Northern Isles and have done for 44 years. The people in Orkney and Shetland have no desire what so ever for Scottish Independence. I am sure if there is another referendum the Scottish people will say no again.

Seems to have dampened enthusiasm for Lloyds today? Guess the SP will flatline now around the 50p level until FCA take the foot of the brakes regarding dividend payouts by banks and Lloyds half year results 29th July.

Sold out of Aviva today and moved back here. Sold out of Lloyds in January and bought Aviva in February. Made a good gain with Aviva since February but would have made more if I had stayed with Lloyds in January, but hey ho, hindsight is a wonderful thing. I moved back across today as I think there is more growth potential with Lloyds going forward and good prospects of dividends coming back later this year. Time will tell.

I have just sold out and bought back into Lloyds. I think more potential for growth but time will tell. GLA who persevere and stay invested here.

Is that exactly what Tesco did earlier this year? That has not worked out well.

Pretty much as expected then so be interesting to see what the market thinks at 08:00. I think there will not be much movement upwards of SP until they come out with the plan to return cash to shareholders. Potentially this would only be around November/December before they enlighten us so I don't see much upwards movement of SP till then but would love to be proved wrong!

That £9m trade after hours was an uncrossing trade so don't read anything into that.

SP drop today seems excessive compared to market drop? I wonder if those in the "know" have been given the Nod ahead tomorrows update? Or am I just being cynical!?

Interesting that M&S Final Results 200M loss for the year and share price shoots up 7%? Nice to think Aviva SP could replicate this after tomorrows Trading Update but probably just wishful thinking; Aviva normally goes down after even positive updates.

I sold out of Lloyds in January and bought back into this in February @ 342p. Made a good gain since then although for last 2 or 3 weeks appears to be run out of steam looking for direction. In hindsight was a maybe little hasty selling out of Lloyds which has had a good run since February as well, better than my gain here. Am considering maybe switching back to Lloyds as even with the cash disposals here it seems that anecdotal sentiment over previous management failures is hard to shake of and is preventing the SP moving forward to a price commensurate with the expected return of excess cash. See what the Trading Update on Thursday says and SP reaction to that.

The earnings per share for last year was 70p according to information on this site. Can anyone give a ballpark figure as to what percentage of this was directly attributable to earnings generated by the divisions that have now been disposed of?

Spell checker did not correct it. I was not the best in class with grammar when at school. I'm sure he/she will understand the suggestion.
