I don't understand why some are fixated with a share consolidation to "get the share price over 50p"? So you do a consolidation to get the share price to 100p for example; the value of your holding will still be the same as before the consolidation with share price at 50p. And how many millions would be wasted in broker fee's for overseeing this?

I would have thought it would be easier to negotiate deals with 27 individual countries, would have more leverage? Far harder to try and negotiate deals with I federal block representing 27 countries.

Well given that the US Federal Reserve have lifted all restrictions for US companies, I cannot see any justification for the PRA not doing the same in the UK?

Yes, the Government would never pick up the tab of bailing out the banks again. Last time the Financial crisis was caused by the greed of banks. But, this time it is the Government that is putting the banks into a potential crisis of bad loan defaults this time, so they must pick up the tab for that, not the banks or their share holders.

Another 4 weeks until half year results, it's going to be a long 4 weeks waiting for the anticipated............(hoped for) news on dividends. Until then SP is just going to drift in direction of FTSE and ultimately the DOW.

Spoke to soon with my earlier post saying FTSE will trade flat; just after I posted fell back another 30pts!

Looks like FTSE will trade flat until early afternoon and then follow the DOW whatever direction it goes. Expect Lloyds will do the same

DOW is back in positive territory now.

DOW has opened up around 150 pts so if it can maintain and increase should give some impetus to FTSE and Lloyds to increase todays gains to now.
