FWIW I have now been through the CPR...good grief

Strike me down with an over ripe banana...

IMO this is classic stuff...

the document is so padded with caveats that it derives gas and value figures VERY far below the likely actuality...

thus presenting a great opportunity to a buyer...yes BUYER

From 25% risking ( where that is purely a guess and, per Keith, it applies to gas to power deals ...so why apply it more widely?)

To 12.5% discount rates...give me a break!

Then to swap methodology to pick up on readings from Anchois...thus reducing pay thickness

Then to not even comment on other structures (NE)

Yes it was good to read about permeability, charge and porosity...

BIG numbers in there and smack bang in line with (fwiw) my own previously published evaluations (I am not crowing ...merely stating facts)

I have been able to get stuff right so far...from day one

Including the NON separate sand body...

I published that on here and the company came out with the same findings about two months later

did anyone notice the % discount rate used to calculate $592m NPV ?

Crikey...looks like someone decided to apply 12.5% ...
as opposed to say 10%

the logic for that is not specified
BUT I can tell you....
within such difference are deals crafted...with all coming out the winner

Todays' chatter about placings might be correct...
it is no surprise that tiny E&D outfits require capital

But there are other ways ...

decision would be in the gift of ONHYM

Deal this year

Moved up the base line resources categorisation from prospective to contingent...
it is why...the other day... I referred readers to the AAPG resource categorisation classification

It may not sound like a big step to many newbies
but that is big news...

as it confirms base line numbers of what PRD has discovered

AND it separates PRD from other outfits with 'only' Prospective Resources'...
sorry MEM I do not agree with you on your point ' hundreds of other companies'...far from it

make no mistake , these resources are not far below Reserve level

yes we have to get there...of course

but it is very clear

this is one of the biggest hydrocarbon finds in recent times

it is every bit as important and valuable as I have been banging on about

I do not expect PRD to be the field operator for long.

I have yet to read the latest CPR ... so caveated accordingly

There seems a lack of interesting posts at present (yes... I recognise that my own post may not change that)

But has anyone examined the Sept presentation?

It struck a friend and me as ‘interesting. at the time ...but we have kept quiet on the matter

Ask yourselves :

‘what might be the effective cost of raising capital ...
in terms of say discount % to open market prices for gas ...that could otherwise be achieved?’

The presentation looked at a unit selling price of $11 BCF
And a built up costs figure of $3.41 BCF (slide 11 )

So that looks like a difference of $7.51 being the full nett revenue to PRD /associates

But what if (I am not saying it is!!) the cost of capital provision is 20% ?

What if PRD then decides ...( so as not to mislead the market) to show a nett revenue of $6 BCF?

Instead of $7.51

That is slightly odd as it represents an exact 20% reduction

I am not aware of any other deduction that would be exactly 20%

I do wonder if matters are in plain sight

Any contributions would be gratefully received

Yes I was admitted...on drips etc...24/7 watch

Prior to that... two A&Es worked on me overnight...
The first did not have the requisite skill set
and the second has a specialist unit... fully staffed even at night...so I was blue lighted from one to the other

It was bloody impressive by NHS ...

to whom I owe rather a lot!

just to say that I am now out of hospital...
convalescing...peeled grapes etc ...at home

I can tell you...a full night in two different A&E units was revelatory in the extreme...

The dedication of many staff was extraordinary...
But...The skill levels deployed by the top people even at 3-4am was another level.

But I have to say that the lack of comprehension contained in several other posts... by usual suspects and their sidekicks...was eye watering

It was almost as if someone had built a production line... to produce FUD in endless shapes and forms

Off for peeled grapes now...running is going to be off my agenda todayAfternoon all...

I recall PG mentioning the effective holding cost per barrel of oil in place were the original deal to have gone through...
Thus...the marriage value of EOR could be considerable...more oil in place would reach commercially viable levels ...due to EOR

And of course due to updraft in POO in the meantime

My wife and daughter went to a meal at the Shard pre Christmas...

salutary to consider that the viewing gallery there is lower than the prognosed gross interval for mou4...the actual full Share height being slightly higher...

now look out 12kms in North/south and in East /west...directions

Superimpose that on map of London!!!
Someone here could try that

yes...you might be right ...

but one has to allow for multiple trading
IE some amateurs attempting their bedroom versions of HFT (high frequency trading)

Whilst the practice is illegal in many markets...that applies only IF automated

((it was not uncommon in automated HFT
for a single equity share to be sold/bought/sold many hundreds of times...per minute...
with some derivatives that rate went even higher))

Folk would need DMA to play that game ...but some will
