I dont see the conspiracy, the article clearly states its not a RR engine but mentions a similar incident that was RR related. Investigations into both are ongoing and there are now extra checks instigated on the EA fitted aircraft as a precaution. Its not unusual for engines to have technical issues, sometimes serious ones like this. It makes the news more because it looks quite bad and with social media things can go viral. What doesnt make the news is the follow up, the solution or even the AAIB or equivalent conclusion. I suspect that because its often many months later and technical documentation hundreds of pages long doesn't fit in well with social media or 24h news programs who now seem to have to make news entertaining rather than detail facts that are news worthy. You might see a bit more if the engine needs a radical redesign which is expensive and knocks the SP of the company involved or involves travellers being stuck, moaning on said social media but tomorrow there is likely to be another Trump tweet to fret over. Yes it might affect the SP but its only like Tesco reporting and that being correlated across to other supermarkets.

Yes it is better for a lower share price if your buying, company or PI. Not sure why you think shareholders are being hammered. "Should rise" maybe its stopping it falling faster because of the buyback. I am generally negative on buybacks but I suspect the benefits take a long time to filter through to the shareholders and often go unnoticed but that should be ok for long term holders. I wish it would get hammered so I can add some more but maybe I might try just a few at these levels even if its just to replace the ones they made me sell. Waiting for Mr market to take a knock but I remain less conspiracy theorist but maybe I'm blind.

I have not looked into the figures of how many people didnt tell the truth to the pollsters for all the inaccurate polls that got it so wrong recently. Thousands if not a million but I suppose the respondents might have all told the truth but Yougov just happened to pick samples of the population that changed their mind at the last minute or were not very good with Yes and No. Maybe there is another reason the polls are wrong but I doubt I will be adding to the accuracy but then again I dont really care about polls much. I have no problem with Opers comments. I know that he is generally negative with MRW and more positive with TSCO and adjust my thoughts in that context! He is entitled to his opinion even if you dont agree and occasionally gets me to rethink or research a point even if its to try and debunk his argument. Just as your comments might be conformation bias to me as we are more likely to agree. Both could be right or wrong. I was invested in both and arguably was wrong with TSCO at the time and is probably a better company now than when I first go hold of it. Work did ethnicity surveys every year, as race doesnt matter I was Chinese, African, and Other in the last three. I even got a call once reference a "difference" and the conversation was stopped when I pointed out that it was becoming racist, by trying not to be racist. Yougov seems to have the same problem, as most polls have been wrong recently, I suspect we dont want our time wasted by polls or dont want to be labeled. I know one person who told a poll that they were against Brexit even though they told me they were going to vote for it but didn't want to be labeled bigoted or racist. Some polls are also set to get the answers they want and I had first hand experience of this where the polster "filled in" my answers with his that fitted more closely with a different outcome than I stated.

Brexit is still being defined and any shock will most likely be short lived. Companies can and do adapt to changes all the time. As stated earlier, the FX rates will most likely affect the SP and divi payout. Mr market could throw a wobble although this will hit most shares not just this.

Lots of sales starting including the Blue Cross at debs, online today and in store tomorrow. We just need some storms or something for use as an excuse in case the figures are bad. I'm saving my spending for black Friday.

I like boring, so much so I added a few more of these yesterday. Not really a great price but helps balance the PF and I will just have to get excited when the quarterly divi gets paid. Not sure why they would cut the dividends, would make me take them off my Christmas card list. Markets normally stronger in the darker months but the wobbles are usually bigger too.

Well I have taken the option to add some more of these on the upcoming share issue despite them being at a ten percent premium. Of course they could get scaled back so I have asked my other broker why they have not informed me of this option and awaiting a reply so might double up just in case. Might be a bit risky with interest rates more likely to rise but a quarterly divi rising with inflation fits in with my income profile. I suspect some will have sold to rebuy with the lower priced option and good luck if it works but I suspect it is highly likely it will get scaled so holding onto what I have. The differential creeping down, might be able to buy some on the open market almost as cheap soon
