May I ask what line of questioning was that and by whom? No one else who attended the AGM reported anything odd about the line of questioning the Chairman faced, in fact quite the opposite from memory, which is strange to say the least? You asked about viral clearance. In early 2020, due to the emergence of SARS-CoV-2, Synairgen's SG015 trial in COPD patients was paused with 109 out of the targeted 120 patients recruited. "An interim analysis of the data was reported in September 2020 which demonstrated that SNG001 boosted lung antiviral responses as assessed using sputum biomarkers, and led to a significant difference in the lung function of exacerbating patients.[1]
Key findings of the additional assessment include:
· Viral clearance from the lower respiratory tract
Sputum samples were collected where possible at study visits conducted during and after the 14-day dosing period. Assessment of viral clearance focused on the most frequently detected virus, human rhinovirus (HRV), which accounted for approximately 50% of infections. The results suggest that HRV was cleared more rapidly in patients treated with SNG001 than placebo with a statistically significant difference in the proportion of patients with detectable HRV in sputum at Day 7 (post hoc analysis)."

Highlighting the weaknesses of the statements in the article, such that it reads more like a marketing piece with not enough balance in my mind, , is not "chucking ill-informed mud". It is simply stating fact. Paxlovid DOES have a number of known drug-interactions, some quite serious. Stating that fact does not negate the gatekeeping Dr's and MDs will do to get it to the right people. It just narrows it's scope and mass market of the drug.

On the question of needing a positive Covid test result, you don't to get Paxlovid. You just rock up to your healthcare provider and they prescribe it if they feel your symptoms could be Covid. They could just as well be A bit witless of an approach if you ask me and certainly one that will not be intentionally abused, but will inadvertently lead to a lot more people popping Paxlovid thinking they have Covid when they don't. It is not targeted treatment. Overuse where there is no clinical need leads to drug resistance. Sorry to disappoint but it's simply another inescapable fact, one which wasn't lost on the author of the piece.

As Alpha rightly points out, it won't take long to see resistance when you have people popping Paxlovid pills to treat what they think is Covid but what is actually Flu/Migraine/Cold/Allergy.

Plans are classed as operational. The company have zero duty to update shareholders on day-to-day operational activities, which by their very nature tend to be commercially sensitive! If you mean a public showing of spend, we already have this to some degree with the hiring of a Medical Affairs professional. Your assumption is also that the company require funds to progress at this stage but maybe they do not - what are you basing that assumption on?

Trinityman, to answer your question I am not tied to dates. I look to the AGM as the next anchor point - an update to shareholders can't be sidestepped there. Unless we hear sooner, I expect to hear of progress made then and a clear path forward at the AGM. All of the signs I am reading (recent hirings, RB continued support to meet clinical need, onboarding of new NEDs with PE / funding and Development/Commercialisation experience ) appear calculated and positive.

Doc.Daneeka, to your point about the Universal Trial only being useful when the study ends, I disagree. I see no reason why data collected to date cannot be used from this observational study, no reason that the data only becomes usable at study end date. It is not a clinical trial. I would expect any valuable learnings/output to be informing plans already.

I don't believe they have need for funds Ghia, nor do I expect them to. They must remain agile though, the future is always unknown.

I think you're very behind the curve there Ghia, on the right track but behind the curve. I expect a lot more has been progressed than you realise? I expect an announcement, when it comes, will bear that out.

Thanks Wigster77 for that link. Very interesting video on the reason for and timing of onboarding a Medical Affairs team. And notable that the subject of the video is a contracted service provider. This then begs the question - how much greater should we assume the need is within Synairgen that they chose to hire an IN-HOUSE SALARIED Medical Affairs person, as opposed to a cheaper external provider of such a service? I can only surmise that the in-house employed role must be expected to be full on and concrete with expectation of it being a longer-term endeavor?

I'd rather our CEO got on with the business of brokering a trial or a world-class deal that will blow the barn doors off. I'm not a fan of useless updates which equate to little substance, that's why I look forward to a update when the company has something to update us with. I find that patience and persistence tend to win out in the end. If you are worried, why not call an EGM? Is it because there are only a dozen or so posters are actually interested in such a move? It would seem so. Or attend the AGM next time and voice your valid concerns? Or sell your shares perhaps? . The fact that the most significant shareholder here (hedge fund Polygon) are causing no ripples and voicing no concerns of the ilk repeated daily on this forum, suggests to me that they are happy with waiting to receive an update of substance?
