Bit WHY would they want to get to 29.9%. How does that benefit them?

I could be wrong. But it would be daft to dismiss the possibility that they are doing here what they have done elsewhere previously. My view. Obviously DYOR.

I don't believe Polygon have any intention accumulating more than they have.
They have parked themselves at 28% for some time, they therefore appear to be happy to wait. They are not agitating, nor are they selling. They seek no changes to the BOD, nor have they as far as we can tell. There is no discernible sign that they are unappeased. They have plenty of leverage with 28% to "encourage" a good deal. Enough, not too much. I would suggest this is part of a well-practised plan. Previous Polygon shareholdings which ended in successful deals seem to bear this out; Accumulate, wait for corporate action, leverage a good deal, exit.

Desperate measures. Sales for Paxlovid are expected to plummet this year. Pfizer expects Paxlovid revenue falling from the $18.9 billion it made in 2022 to just $8 billion in 2023, similar to the sales decline expected for its COVID vaccine Comirnaty. The TV adverts do also list all of the drug’s potential side effects. It remains to be seen if the adverts can drive a significant sales increase and turn Pax's fortunes around, otherwise it's won't end up giving much bang for their $ buck.

The data however does not bear this out: Small biotech firms are now responsible for nearly 70 percent of new drug approvals in the US, not Big Pharma. The power pendulum is swinging. If BP still held as much power as they did 1 or 2 decades ago, that figure of 70% would be much, much lower today. And it is an upward trend.

Incorrect. Pre-trial activities (e.g. planning etc) do qualify. That is where we are at. See the link I just provided and read through the full activities list.

It is oft-wondered who has the most to gain from incessant posting here.
Whoever is behind the numerous multiple-accounts, keeping PI's Actively Engaged with this share seems to be the strategy and has been for some time. Quite literally, there is rarely a dull moment. And when there is, the void is quickly filled with some other banal connective tissue, usually of the antagonistic kind. It's bizarre. There is no reason for the 24/7 coverage. Thinking about it, Polygon, or A Another, must be extremely reliant on PI's remaining here, lapping up the daily slop that is dished out on this BB. If 50% of the PI shareholders up'd sticks and sold out today, the big boys would be left holding a very large $$$ hole... Very painful indeed. So who gains the most for keeping us interested and loyal here? And who has the most to lose if we PI's sell en masse? Hmmm.
