Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
It was a very useful informative meeting yesterday. Firstly is was really good to meet Tom from here.
CEO Rupert Verco is very personable and clearly on top of his brief. I thought the presentation was exceptionally technical, perhaps too much so, but nothing wrong with that if it's to demonstrate how good our prospects are.
There was significant weight given to rare earths. I do feel that given time, we have the opportunity to turn this company into a much bigger beast. But as with all mining prospects this will take a lot of time. We need patience and in my view it's pointless trying to trade this share. If you believe in Cobra, as I do, then wait for the big pay day. Why not a 100 bagger? Really, this is possible if the stars are aligned and I think that having the rare earth alongside the gold increases that possibility.
I said it would help from an investors' point of view if there was a 5 year strategy plan in place and Rupert said they would do this.
In our world of short-term thinking, Cobra and others like it are always going to struggle to get traction until something comes out of the ground or at least until values are proven...but this will come.
The market cap is so low, and the acreage of the site is so large, and the shallow mining processes required are so relatively inexpensive, that if we wait...we will reap the benefits. What's the Latin proverb? He who endures with patience is a conqueror.
I'm happy to recommend this share but we should all know that it's a marathon not a sprint. Good luck all. Baz

If anyone else is attending the meeting with the CEO today I look forward to seeing you there.
All the best,
Barry
A sandwich lunch would work for me - gluten free please! I hold shares personally and as part of a City investment club and I would report back to them. I have a 5pm in St James's so could possibly do 3pm if not lunch. Thanks, Barry
YES there is gold...and we will get to it. Those who promote the sale of products using Welsh gold will be desperate for it, hence the suggestion it will sell for 3x the market gold price. (I personally would like to see our extracted gold made into bars and auctioned at Sothebys or Spinks rather than a fixed price deal to retailers). We will get the gold out of the tip and we will get the gold out of the hills. Things move slowly in mining exploration, but they are moving. We've all been patient but I truly believe this year will mark a significant turning point in ALBA's progress. GLA. Baz
Yes just to be clear Lee the share price makes NO difference when comparing 2 companies. It's only the value of the whole company, or Market Capitalisation (Mcap) that is important. So the share price x number of shares is the Mcap.
So Bluejay's share price is 7p x 973 million shares = £68m Mcap
GROC share price is 6.84p..let's say 7p x 111 million shares - £7.7m Mcap.
I hope that helps. All the best, Baz
Wow. So this asset is worth Billions and the remainder of island is yet to be drilled. Then factor in the other assets our 54% share of Groc represents plus our own and you should see a bright future down the road. Holding for the long term here. Baz
This is significant - let’s not forget our nearly 12% share is a significant minority share of Horse Hill. I remember listening to the Surrey CC meeting as it was broadcast live years ago and it was a joke. This Court of Appeal decision settles things. Our Alba shares took several hits with bad news relating to HH before and now I hope the market will respond positively. But you know Aim! Whether HH for us is income or an asset to sell - this decision can only be viewed as positive. I expect Alba to RNS this here shortly. GLA. Baz
Looks like a buy based on the price.
I would like 20p please!
yes I like that spacerat. but don't forget the dood is down with the kids when it comes to saving the planet!
really? don’t underestimate the double whammy of Price William yesterday warning against fast fashion plus the even greater probability that ‘buy now pay later’ will be more regulated.
oh yes. Doh!! Sorry they clearly haven’t posted it yet. Let’s hope when someone gets into the office they’ll fix this. Note to self. Don’t post from phone but look on the big screen instead. GLA. Baz
At last a clear timed plan: 0-12 Month Plan
? Phase 2 underground and surface drilling, targeting identified extensions to mine workings ? Phase 2 channel and bulk sampling
? Processing of bulk samples
? Dewatering and rehabilitation of Llechfraith Main Shaft for channel and bulk sampling
? Pitting and sampling of Tyn Y Cornel Waste Tip
12-24 Month Plan
? Commissioning of Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) or Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS). ? Submission of full planning application to re-open the mine
? Execute offtake agreements for sale of Clogau gold
? Upgrade/construction of long-term processing facilities
? Commencement of commercial production
Indeed. The previous waste dump range of results were 4g - 9.89g per tonne. Let's assume we get back just an average of 6g per tonne. The 60kg sent off for assaying should yield just 0.36g on that basis. Yes we're talking tiny amounts but it's the scaling up that's interesting. SO...if 6g is in fact the average then our 5000 tonne waste dumps should yield 30kg of gold. The market rate for this is about £2.3m. HOWEVER...I believe we can obtain x3 for our gold as none has been seen for decades. Let's make 30 bullion bars of gold with our Welsh gold stamp imprinted on it and auction them. We know that certain retailers selling Welsh gold will clamour for them but also around the world the investment value and connection with Royalty will be infectious to an auction sale. News of this would reverberate around the world. So I predict the full waste dump gold could yield £5m-£8m if marketed correctly....and that's without any mining going ahead yet. Happy days to come I believe. Good luck all. Baz
and is it any wonder...the video shows GOLD flakes in the pan from the waste dump.
When I was topping up buying tens of thousand of Pounds worth of Alba last Spring at around 0.3, I was happy with the price then. I knew the potential and and still know the potential.
Since then nothing has changed except progress. The dewatering will be sorted and the waste dump is finally being processed.
Groc is funded and will take no more funding from us so only upside. This is now ++ compared to when I previously bought. Of course this is significantly underpriced.
I'm looking forward to the year ahead. Transformational is a word I would rarely use about a share but I think this year could be it after being in here for over 5 years. GLA. Baz
I’m sure I don’t need to remind you that Alba just received a decent six figure sum back from GROC in relation to money spent on what are now their projects. Good luck all for a prosperous New Year. Baz
Not sure a link will work on here but we can try: https://twitter.com/AlbaMinerals/status/1471864995025670148?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
It's Alba's twitter page if you have a look. If you don't have twitter just google "Alba minerals twitter" and it will come up.
Has everyone seen the Limerick tweet?
At the shareholder meeting held years ago GF said regular monthly income was coming in from Horsehill and this was offsetting any costs incurred as part of our share. Any surplus would be net income but I have no idea if any months have achieved that. Baz
