value through buy backs over a multi year timeframe.

Whether Aviva does the same remains to be seen.

A few down days for wider markets and you may have an opportunity to
buy back some lower, should you wish to do so.

Aviva often sells off on wider equity market volatility.

Does it realise that we view it as an epic loser investor.

Sounds like it may have lost a bundle of money somewhere along
the line and is making a desperate attempt to appear informed ?,
it's not working!.

Most well informed UK investors are well aware that the MCX trounces
the UKX over the longer term and you can take advantage of this
by holding an MCX tracker. FTSE Small Cap hitting new all time highs daily.

The UKX also has some fantastic longer term performers, Next, Experian, Diageo, Halma,
3i, Berkeley Group, Ashtead Group, to name just some.

Perhaps it was not clever enough to identify and hold some of these great stocks.

It's majority owned by the founding Weston family through a Trust.

This effectively rules out corporate action or a bid.

Secondly, it's the Primark valuation that largely now drives the ABF share price
and that division because of COVID has LED to recent SP underperformance.

So if I'm looking at this correctly, 3i value

a circa 50% stake in Action at circa £5 billion??

and FY 2021 profitability may not be seen again for sometime.
Consensus pre tax on KGF now at £900 million for the current full year.

I will take the third point on Primark remaining popular.

The answer is don't know whether they will remain as incredibly popular
as is the case now.

What I do know is Marks once made £1 billion on pre tax annually - unfortunately
old enough to remember that.

Philip Green was King of the UK high street a decade ago, and now
what has happened to Arcadia ...

So what appears certain in retail can change every quickly.

Q1 not particularly relevant to the share price,
what's far more significant is where passenger numbers are in 12
months time.

That very largely depends on COVID.

There is little yield support - even if dividends returned to 2019 levels,
then at the current share price the yield is approx 2%.

The Weston family have a controlling stake which effectively rules out
a private equity approach or bid from someone else.

A lot of the valuation depends on whether Primark continues to remain as popular.

I'm not seeing a compelling buy case atm, but that is very much imv Only
and may be wrong.

If ABF paid out more of their earnings it might arguably generate more interest
in the shares.

Next PLC consistently buy back and cancel their shares helping to propel earnings,
which has contributed to that company's incredible longer term returns.

Indeed, protection against severe illness - my other half works in healthcare.

Kall, Javid has COVID and been double jabbed ,
mild symptoms reportedly.

This is what they have always done - acquire, improve, sell.

Melrose is currently a significantly larger company than in the past,
so chunks being sold off is not something to be cautious of imv.

FWIW recent share price weakness may be growing fears
of a UK Autumn lockdown. Hopefully this does not happen.
