In 2011 (so not long after the GFC) KGF made the best part

of £700 Million on pre tax.

Factor in inflation since and their current profitability arguably paints a vulgar picture.

Their list of excuses and reasons for trading disappointment

appears endless.

is going to do.

I'm not short and I do not go short individual stocks.

As I hold ABF, I keep an eye on UK non food retailers.

At these SP levels, which some posters maintain are an absolute bargain (and may they are) you might expect multiple BOD member to be buying hand over fist..

The late 1980's onwards in UK stock market terms

and even with this timeframe I can recall very few

instances of acquisition activity within an arguably compressed

timeframe.

This requires extraordinary quality of senior management to

embed synergies and run efficiently.

May be JD is up to the job, however in this context,

the market is understandably cautious.
