I sometimes mention specific stocks where risk/reward looks favourable
re. wider markets.

With a stock like BT.A, would hope it would outperform the wider UKX should
markets sell off and hopefully offers some nice multi year upside as the investment
case becomes clearer.

This has been on the cards for a few week.

Mentioned yesterday possible corporate margin compression as an area to watch
with growing inflationary pressures - look at today's statement from MCB.

I've made a similar point previously - Philip Green was king on the UK High St
a decade ago.

TopShop was once the go to store for fast fashion, not so long ago either.

My very rudimentary understanding is the Peru mutation is unable
to compete with Delta, but that may be less so with Columbia
which already accounts for about 10% of case in Florida.

My other half works in frontline healthcare, as mentioned previously on the GSK board,
has been with seven people who passed away with COVID - not a
nice way to go.

Hopefully in to next year we have widely available options that can augment vaccination.

We may hopefully get to a stage where oral antivirals can be prescribed on diagnosis.

Also hold a small amount of AV. and would like more but
that is usually hit hard on equity market turbulence.

yup that's the problem, we never avoid US related equity falls.

However, what is now increasingly happening is PE/competitors are spotting valuation anomalies
and pouncing.

And ULVR.

SMIN, TATE, 3i, BEZ and ELM.

Would also add some ISF on volatility.

keep an eye on this - could be the next problem.

Read an interview with Stanley Druckenmiller last week and his view is
financial markets are in the largest bubble he has seen in his career.
Now he has no monopoly on being right, but his thoughts may be worth noting.

Jeffrey Gundlach appears to see current conditions in the same light.

Personally I would be surprised to see a major downturn in equity markets,
barring something problematic on covid, inflationary pressures may begin to
crimp corporate profit margins is another area to be mindful of.

BT endured a multi year major bear market lasting approx 5 years
and falling from £5 a share.

As things stand the SP is in an early stage new bill market but in a correction
within that. If the SP falls more than 20% from the recent circa £32high then
another new bear market has begun, that could be fleeting, or not,
as the case may be.

There appears to be a huge amount of complacency in wider equity markets atm
and to me BT looks reasonable risk/reward in a wider equity market filled to the
brim with some very rich valuations.

Looks a lack of online in Primark to me but just my view only obvs.

Thanks, I've spent some time reading and on my rudimentary understanding
it does not appear a significant threat.

First time holding BT.A for a number of years.

through a network of satellites.

Reportedly sees the sector as ripe for disruption.

and many younger people drinking less, or not visiting pubs.
