RE: The share that never ever gives21 Jun 2022 16:56
Good post @DD .. reflective of a growing point of View I suspect. And @UKSteveG, another one. Who can forget that vast 'pipeline'. Funny that came from RedT and that worked out well. (MN's star was waned considerably since IMO).
As for milestones @pdub. Like what ? Pretty much all of the expansion on refurb has come about because of an abject failure to properly understand how poor the plant was and what it was not capable of. I remember the heady days 5 years ago when production expansion into 15,000-25,000 mtv was spoken about. I think of it as 3 steps forward 2 steps back.
It may well be that behind the scenes lots is going on ... but ever thus was.... how would we know as they never tell anyone. Any communication privately is about more 'imminent' changes that months down the road are no where to be seen.
I do think you are correct to characterise change as SA market / Eskom Centric. In the end, until the Electrolyte plant is fully operational (10 months ?), we are just a small miner in a basket economy SA ! The SP reflects the long line of missed targets and promised dawns. Until that changes, the spotlight wont really move much.
There was a point an RNS was issued saying 'we know of no reason the SP has dropped' in response to a large and sudden drop. Yet here we are, 50% down from march and not a peep.
The lack on any meaningful PI responses from the company speaks volumes about the consistent and systematic approach of the company to not giving a stuff about investors. And with no real way to hold them to account or remove them, why should they.
As I said, vote with your feet if you want the loss or to walk away, vote against the Pay & Remuneration Resolution in a few weeks if not. Last year the vote was 112.0m vs 83.5m against and the previous year and 179m vs 36m the year before ... growing negative feeling.
I see no miracles in the next 3 weeks so no guesses as to my vote on that resolution.
... and I did buy more last week at these crazy prices... I do see a big rise, just not sure which year !
