Personally I don't believe the revaluation of the Gold in the US reserves is more than an accounting trick, or that it would have a large long-term impact on the Gold price. It may also play into China's hands, given that China is likely to have far more Gold than the US. I wouldn't be banking on this theory to support a higher long term Gold price.

But don't worry, there are plenty of really good reasons that the Gold price is going much higher, without needing any US revaluation. It's currently at ATH's and looks like it may make an attempt on $3,600 in the next hour, or sooner!

The answer is no, I have added twice since (to different accounts), since that jobs number, to go with many more top-ups this morning on ASX200 news. Feel the shorts burning.

Par for the course now Element. Call is now 50bp cut for Fed at the September meeting in a couple of weeks. That's while core inflation is 2.9% (0.9% above target). This is a perfect storm for GGP!!!

Sorry the job total add was actually really weak at only 22,000, well below market expectations of 60-75k. Great news!

They only added 55k jobs, below expectations. Gold up $20 straight off the bat. Great news for us.

US NFP jobs report out in a couple of minutes, impact on Gold price will be interesting. If it's very weak Gold shoots up, if it's above expectations we may see a bit of a pull back

Great news this morning. The twin jet engines of rising gold price ($3,750-$4,000 on the way in next few months) and passive fund buying are going to see this fly. Couldn't be timed better. GLA

I didn’t follow Myles into this share, and while I appreciate the great research he has posted, I certainly do not base my investment decisions on his posts or actions and neither should others. Myles has been in and out of Mkango over the years and often talks his book (like everyone else), but posting un-evidenced hearsay about his thought process, after your earlier misleading posts on funding overnight, tells me you are just here to make trouble.

My God Aldebaran, you appear completely clueless on this company and the funding situation. Read mine and Velcro’s posts from yesterday answering another poster’s questions on this subject. The fact that you haven’t read them / understood them makes me seriously question your motives. A few more misleading posts from you and you’ll be in my bin.

Interesting that they started us up with a bid at 38p following that UT at 40p at close yesterday. Good sign.

See my earlier post about the uncrossing trade at 40p at the end of the closing auction. The share price in theory should start tomorrow where it ended today, at 38p mid, with a bid of 37p and an ask of 39p (it will report us as being down 2p from 40p). Closing mid prices are more relevant than end of day UT prices.

Yeh, agree, it's annoying and misleading that they take that as the true closing price. The good thing though is that someone bid c.50k at 40p in the end of day auction (it didn't all get filled), so big buyers are prepared to overpay for stock (in comparison to the spread at the time).

Real spread at close was 37.775p / 38.8p. But we've got the 2p spread because the MM's were not keen on making a market this afternoon. Let's see if Friday is our lucky day again tomorrow.

I don't have a problem with bear cases. Peter and his like, would take the bear case (which is fine) and then weave in mistruths / misleading information, and not reply specifically when challenged on it. Those are the ones you have to watch for, they seem reasonable, and knowledgeable, and use this to their advantage to mislead. Did he ever answer the questions around his multi-IDs... another red flag. Anyway, lets avoid too many mentions or we might start getting visits again...

There have been people on here over the years like LWHL, and sometimes Gallmat, who have put across good bear points, and I think that's very healthy as you say. There are certainly enough bulls here, only right to have some balance.

These are clearly the additional funding pots that JT was referring to in his last interview and likely why he said we have applied for grants between 50% and 100% of the total funding requirement. I bet he was told about them at the White House meeting. When you read these descriptions, some of them are tailor made for us. We must have a very strong chance of getting part of the pie!

They've gone to the old 2p spread SG, so not great in terms of making a market. We've obviously had a seller in recent times, not sure whether it's warrants. But I wouldn't say the selling today is necessarily the same as earlier this week when we had a seller who was in a hurry.

Thanks velcro, it's been a long time since I've worked with EIB so I will definitely defer to you on that one, though you could certainly argue that we are enabling the energy transition, and replacing environmentally unfriendly Chinese processing.

On Songwe, I've checked and you're right that Malawi is not currently covered, but they have just expanded to Sub-Saharan Africa this year, so could be possible in time. I do wonder then how the EU will support Songwe in financial terms if it can't directly facilitate financing? Perhaps through grants, offtake support or leveraging its relationships with IFC and ADB? I guess they have already provided 200k euros in funding for Songwe through EIT Raw Materials (an EU institution), which is being spent on advancing process optimisation on the project.
