Much of the ‘shorting’ discussion / conspiracy feeds our own wants : it is equally likely that the few who are shorting simply don’t believe in THG. My hope is management are focused on growing the business and not all this buy-out stuff. Get a Chair. Report some new Clients. Update on margins.

How did we get view on RNS arriving this Monday past, so wrong? W/E chat read as it were a formality.

+ve -&- such for majority of mkt. It strikes me all this shorter / market maker manipulation is hot air. & sentiment will swing +ve on news : not before. We could be here for months and I am getting comfortable with that following w/e excitement. Is it late Mar when when next scheduled update is?

Thx secretblueprint and Cubane. It just seems inordinately long. I guess another possibility is a settlement is being negotiated to avoid a determination being declared. It’s simply awful for all parties involved that it is taking so long : there really cannot be too much substance left to arbitrate on and further refinement is academic. (That’s my view but am exasperated).

SBB by that rationale they would also have to RNS to advise the rumours are unfounded? They have not done this. I am perturbed that Board chose not to RNS one way or the other and instead hold silence. What is cooking? If anything at all?

It’s a joke. Absolute joke. They cannot be deliberating. So WT F is going on. Sweet F A. All are in stasis. Does ICSid have performance objectives?

Is poor comms. THG could easily have advised : we note press speculation and (a) have no reason or (b) are exploring options with parties and will update (etc). Nothing is a bit naff.

To find underlying value. Like at Morrisons. Absolute delight if someone like Amazon is drawn to the party. Also SoftBank could gobble it up on their own.

Thanks insider. Yes new-ish but not held shares that have been subject to buy out other than Morrisons (which was total out of the blue to why I held). From your post of the Regs : the Regs suggest there will be an RNS at 7am.

Pander makes a good point. At 7am tomorrow three options present:
1/ No RNS
2/ We have no reason to xyz (refute rumour).
3/ The Board are aware of x and advise on y.

I wonder if (1) is actually most likely. Do Board actually have to respond to rumour? Possibly not.
Then it’s (3) for me. Rumour is too specific I feel to be with some (I repeat) some basis.
I’d be nervous but pleased with a bounce from (1). If (3) occurs it could get messy in a good way.

Really hoping a whale like Amazon or Shopify enters the waters for a THG snack.

With more than 50% shares owned by MM and early backers is there a risk they just ‘agree’ on a sub-par £ to take private? I think they req. 75%. A little concerned (which is a good thing) that Board act in the interest of all shareholders when assessing offer and / or recommending. Fingers crossed this at least gives many cause for reappraisal

At jet lock : I think if there is a strategy update RNS at 7am it’ll clear 250 possibly 300 within the week. If not a lot of noise beneath 200. I’m hoping for former. But must keep reminding myself : my own investment horizon is Q3-23 : great if SP warrants me to recalibrate that quickly.

Interested in thoughts on this (and obvs fab if offers came forward). Kinda think it’s v small small fry for both. But that also raises the Q why not.

At Annacott : it will be interesting to see which papers reference it and how they skew : some awful sentiment of late (some of it a little 'privileged humbug' (or at least I felt it to be).... will there be any reporting? Mystification? Converts uncovering new found value?

Fair pace : there must be c.300 jobs there. Say £33K ave (low) that’s £10m / annum in SAL. being hired now. It’s a hard push for growth. I guess to achieve size effect where THG becomes THG dominant platform / vehicle for sales

Good management I think >> cutting assets down to a manageable base >> and rebuild out.

I’m moving on from yo-yo SP in short term. Inflation : a macro issue THG not in control of. Short-term hit (protein costs). Medium term 1-3yrs how does this play for THG? I’m broadly positive as it stresses potential customers into onboarding & people tend to stick to health / beauty items in tough times : small pleasures. The -ve view is that margins / currency exposure etc get out of hand and price points that work move to a think-twice before buying basis. Thoughts welcome please.
