Boards tend to be either mostly deserted or toxic I find. The deserted kind are the best for on-topic discussion, but they tend to be deserted for a reason - aka, the SP is doing nothing. As soon as the SP does something, up or down, the board becomes toxic fast. Smug or bitter (respectively) LTHs abound. I don't know which is worse. GGP is a classic example. Some very strange folk over there (and I speak as someone who made good money on GGP myself). Brag about having 100% of thir portfolio in GGP, not to mention having held all the way down from 38p (old money aka pre-consolidation) because they're a true believer. This board could tend the same way. DYOR, keep your own counsel and don't fall in love with a share are all pieces of advice that stand the test of time.

It was not so long ago that you were expressing sceptisism regarding MTL Surrey. We all defend that which we are invested in, but some self-awareness wouldn't go amiss...

Contribute something of actual worth yourself ff, then maybe you can have a go at others for their grammer. Until then, shut up.

Considering that the gov promised Harry the ratification would be done by Christmas, and it didn't actually happen until May, they don't have a leg to stand on regarding delays. Besides, it would be a very empty threat - they're not pulling the licenses. The project would be left in limbo for the next decade if they did.

It is up to the company both how much to pay out in dividends, and how to split up the payments. Investors will generally be more interested in the yield - the percentage of the current SP that is paid out annually. So while there may be multiple payments a year, it is the total amount paid out during that year which is of real interest.

Personally, I tend to think that dividends is a terribly unimaginative way of spending the company's profits. All else being equal, I'd rather they ploughed it back into the business to leverage the gains on the funds they'd otherwise have literally given away.

Kinda ridiculous to immediately condemn a poster merely for expressing the heinous view that the SP may not go up in a straight line! Some consolidation would be healthy in my view.

TW had been positive for some time - and saying that final sign-off was imminent, when we now know that wasn't the case. Now, when it really does seem to be weeks away, he's going and on about bonuses. I'm not saying he doesn't have a point, but at the end of the day, I don't rate his judgement. For the record, if someone is going to make me a lot of money, as I still think HAA will, I don't object if he makes a few quid along the way as well.

The reality is that takeover bids very rarely come in at huge premiums to the current SP. The buyer has to justify the deal to their own shareholders is one reason. So I'm not in favour of a takeover deal at this stage, it would be leaving so much money on the table it's not funny. Once production has started, then maybe.

That said, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Condor Gold (CNR) was taken over by Metals Exploration (MTL) at a decent but unspectacular premium 6 months ago. Very disappointing for LTH in CNR, such as myself. However, since then MTL's SP has more than doubled, which honestly I wasn't expecting, but is very pleasing. Hard to predict, this investing game sometimes, but even so, I don't think a takeover at this stage will get KEFI shareholders the best return.

The MCap, basically. Confidence has been shot to shreds over the last few years, you don't have to read many posts on this board to see that. But that presents an opportunity. The low price means an awful lot of pessimism is already built into the price, so providing some insulation from the downside. Conversly, it won't take much good news to rise significantly from these levels. Some think we are on the cusp on good news. Some won't believe it until they see it, and maybe not even then. That's up to individuals to judge for themselves and position themselves accordingly. Place your bets...

I doubt very much that Rob had any shares to sell, and is almost certainly trolling. That said, the speed of the rise does raise the question as to whether the SP is getting ahead of itself. Nearly £400m MCap now. If the background buyer pauses and JM continues to sell down, it's not blasphemy to suggest that the SP could pull back, and indeed that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. We all know the long-term value is there, but i wouldn't blame anyone for trimming a few and diversifying into other things. Easy to get too concentrated when one holding goes on a run.

Re. witch-hunt. I recall Seingred, I was there. I'm now saying you should let it go. There's more to life than feuds on message boards.

Let it go Seingred. All you do is harp on and on about the past. Good, bad, indifferent, doesn't really matterin the end, but it does get tedious. After a year or two, it all becomes water under the bridge. Incidentally, MTL worked out well for ex-CNR holders, for those that have held there...

The actual point can be succinctly summarised as "past performance is not an indicator of future performance". That works both ways.

When what's not the case? Gold at $4500+? Well then we'll just have to be content with coining it in at a miserly $3500...! lol

I assume you mean $, not £ Major. I can imagine you saying the same thing at $2500, $1500, etc. If so, you'd have been wrong then...

It was not very long ago at all that $2000 gold seemed like a pipe dream of the most exuberant gold bugs and more sober analysts were predicting long-term $1600, perhaps after a drop to $1200. Who knows where gold will end the year, I certainly don't, but your position, while quite possibly based on a solid foundation and rational analysis, may end up being rather like King Canute trying to turn the tide. Recent history is on the gold bugs side, not yours...

My experience is that the LSE admins tend to wipe out the entire thread when they see something objectionable. So it's not too hard for perfectly decent posts to be collateral damage. My reccomendation to buy GGP in 2019 suffered such a fate, so I can no longer prove to anyone that I did! lol

The (quoted) spread is quite large. Both sides should bear that in mind before using it to bolster their argument.
