The one thing we can be positive about is the huge local community backing. No doubt the leaders are absolutely fuming and they will be doing everything they can to get it ratified. Herbert needs to lean on his relationships here.

Genuine legal question…surely the Supreme Court can override the speaker’s decision and force the ministers back? Surely they have the most power here?!

And how on earth can we have a mine operating permit with no ratification. I’ll never be investing in Ghana again, total incompetence…and embarrassing. They should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

The local communities are all for the project so let’s hope they put significant pressure on for it to be ratified. No doubt further layoffs now, government need to pull their finger out.

And also what Atlantic have done for the local community has been fantastic, creating jobs for the youth and improved infrastructure. So I’ll be honest it annoys the hell out of me why the minority are blocking it. It’s bullsht! It generates a huge amount of wealth for Ghana. So they want a greater cut?! Greedy idiots. Ratify and move on. Apologies if coming across as pssed off I’ve had a few beers but been invested for a few years and frustrated why the last piece of the jigsaw is not being put in.

I’d say some are coming across as ridiculously greedy. One of the best deals done for them yet minority say no. Because they are greedy morons. If they think they can mine lithium without help then they are more stupid than I thought. Herbert must be tearing his hair out right now.

Yep I did and I think a number of people here would concur. 1.5p equates to £300m market cap. It’s clear when you do the due analysis over the long term of the mine even at $1k pt lithium price Kodal’s share of profit is £281m as it stands with Mali taking 15 per cent. May change if 2023 comes in. So yes £300m ain’t out of the question…considering Kodal also has potentially £700m of gold too at current prices assuming old JORC resource. Plus not factoring in a potential big boost in resource.

Yes indeed it’s frustrating to see it at this level but fundamentals v strong. Plus Hainan need the spod. So we will have to be patient and see what happens.

But IF a buyout happens (certainly not guaranteed) traders will be locked out. Rio paid 90 per cent premium and Hainan paid a 100 per cent premium to acquire 51 per cent of Kodal. Personal preference would be a boost to SP to 0.75 and then Hainan pull the trigger at 1.5 min. It’s madness that the price is below the $17m Hainan paid (paid 0.5 I think). It’s testing my patience for sure…but still optimistic on the future here.

Yep agreed, bit frustrating as really shouldn’t be anywhere near this level…but lots of near term news could send it soaring. License transfer is big news, no one knows if jt will be 2019/2023 but language used in RNS seems to hint to 2023. There is also the resource upgrade which I think can land anytime now as they’ve finished diamond drilling awaiting results. If we get a big upgrade to 50mt and license is transferred we may see a big rise. Once license is transferred this opens up a possibility of a takeover too. It more than doubled on hype so here is hoping…but yeah agreed it’s frustrating seeing such a near term producer as kod with superb fundamentals languishing at this ridiculous market cap!
