You forget that the cancelled shares have to be paid for out of Cash at 195p per cancelled share. So yes there are less shares BUT an equivalent amount of cash has gone out of GNC. So no reason for the remainder to go up in value at all; that depends totally how GNC does from here with a lot less cash.

In a platform can one still trade the rights after the platform deadline for acceptances so long as there is still a market for them?

The institutions have to cough up 409p whatever as it is fully underwritten so there will be a cash injection of 409p per share so buying at under that price is good value so long as KIE continues to be profitable etc.

Just one thing, the time value of the nil paids is running out the closer we get to take-up date so the 7p premium today is all time value as the shares are actually below rights price. That time value will dwindle to 0 if KIE doesn't rise above the rights price.

e.g. like KIE for the normal shares; what is the symbol for the rights please?

Yeah you missed that the all share offer is in shares that have also fallen. So the offer is not worth 253p at the moment though it was in the past. If Hammerson shares recover, it may be worth that again or more but that is a big if. Also there will not be a 6% dividend due; it is 9.4p which is 4.6%. You are probably looking at the total dividend for the year but the interim has already been paid. Sounds like you need to read a few investment books.
