Saintly, Tesco are NOT doing a good thing here and neither are they returning taxpayers money. Instead they have wasted shareholder's funds by returning Covid relief to the government which the government doesn't want because the government wants money in the economy to stimulate it. That is why the government is creating so much currency. All Tesco have done is spent what is rightly ours and in doing so trashed prices of their own and other shares in the sector.

You are living in 'La La Land'. Have you actually looked at the financials or just assumed they are cash rich?
Cash and cash equivalents are fully required to pay off short-term debt and derivative exposure alone. There is no 'war chest'; rather $214.6 Bn of liabilities.

Must be on the cards. Debt approaching 4 X Market cap, net cash negative £12.50 per share. They had better get the rights done while there is still some reasonable value in the share price.

Why the expectation of testing lows? They look good value ?

With one broker my excess application was heavily scaled back. With broker 2, I got everything I applied for; an extra 9500 shares!

To me it doesn't look like we'll get many shares over the basic entitlement. Most basic was taken up and the excess was heavily oversubscribed, hence the rally today in COST. Although your money has all been 'deducted', most of it will be re-credited after your excess shares are purchased. I'd wait and see how many you get and then decide what you want to do.

No any Mot due in the next 6 months won't have to be done now. That plus not many people commuting and no holidays means very few sales for HFD imho.

Directors probably get enough free shares with options, bonuses and reinvested dividends. I agree IMB looks like it is being pulled doen by market sentiment when in effect it should be one of the least affected by the virus.

We might be OK but dont forget hardly anyone can go anywhere right now so other than bikes, the demand for the rest of the motoring side must be greatly diminished. If we get to the point where we can't go outside as in Spain and Italy then bikes won't be required either.

Oh well scratch that; Halfords stores are SHUT

Garages and MoT centres are exempt as are supply chains and bike shops; I'd say that should be good news for HFD although their shares are down today on a generally good day for the market.

Stores have to shut but not clear if MoT centres stay open or not and I have an MoT tomorrow! If it fails, I won't be able to buy parts anyway.

If there is a lockdown then people won't even be going out

With more people working from home, staying in, there is much less demand for autocentres and everything car-related. Can see stores closing and don't think this is going to end well.

I predict £4.50 as the bottom in a week.
