Going back to the comments claiming Buah would want to lay the Report before Parliament, as I proved the other day, the Chairperson of the Committee lays the Report, then the Chairperson and Deputy from the Lands Committee make themselves available in Parliament to answer questions about any points or conclusions reached in the report.
On reading the Hansards I find it particularly funny that Buah didn't even lay the Agreement in Parliament on 19 December, it was "Laid by the Minister for Finance (Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson) on behalf of Minister for Lands and Natural Resources" as per the Hansard of 19 December.
Buah wasn't there to withdraw it on 10 December either!
Hansard 10th December, 2025: "Mr Speaker, an Agreement was presented by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources relating to a concession for the mining of lithium in the country. I have indications from the Hon Minister that he wants to withdraw the Agreement. He has travelled outside the jurisdiction in his capacity as the Acting Minister for Environment, Science and Technology. There is a major environmental conference in Nairobi, Kenya, to which the President was invited, and the President has asked him to represent him. He came and sought leave to absent himself to attend to that. But he has asked that his Deputy Minister, Hon Yusif Sulemana, who is here with us, be allowed on his behalf to withdraw Agreement".
This confirms what I said the other day, that Buah is not around, someone else will do the task for him. Not that he's involved in laying the Committee Report anyway, or answering questions on that report, he can only be request by a motion to answer questions on Legislation that surrounds the deal such as the Mining Law or Mining Royalty Law themselves, but one of his deputies can easily do that and most likely would, so as not to waste his time when he's dealing with international diplomatic missions.
