What more than the 2% we should have been so grateful to receive in your words or leave . When that video went out inflation had risen to 7%. All this dithering by your favourite CEO is costing shareholders money if they end up paying more than 5.2%. He deserves his bonus though. Kinds regards a shareholder that needs to grow up, I know alot of you are wondering who I'm talking too, it's the one you've all muted.
The one that knows all has previously put many times that we should be lucky that we are getting 2% a similar amount to the nurses, even though this year's nurses pay deal hasn't been confirmed. He's also stated many times that if we don't like it leave because he has a magic tree at the bottom of the garden that grows cheap Labour.
Now he's saying 2% should be improved on.
If only the one that knows all actually got his figures right. In February the union asked for 5.2 % no strings. Royal Mail turned it down. 10% is close enough in his eyes, even though the union hasn't stated. Kind regards a concerned shareholder.
I'm taking the **** Anger, when sad muppets on here pretend they know so much yet actually know very little about a business they invest in then its all they deserve.
Spare a crumb for the workers sire.
Totally agree Redceo , I have no problem with the top man at Royal Mail getting a huge wage for making a total **** up but you have a strange infatuation with the top man in the union getting a wage less than the CEOs bonus.
You also don't have a problem that an over inflated board gets larger by the week all on huge wages. Yet you have a problem with those that earn your dividends from getting a wage rise on a wage that gets closer to minimum wage each year.
Those same workers from all different corners of the country from all different backgrounds and vote all different parties are all saying the same thing. This also includes management from just below board level down, that we are being led as a company in the wrong direction.
So with your vast knowledge, you must be right because you are always right but most of us wonder why you are invested in a company that if it follows the boards recommended changes will go down the pan.
You keep telling everyone to leave , yet offer no solution to how we are all going to be replaced
Most people will be wondering who I'm replying to as I see from your previous dribble that the majority mute you.
Terrible to see him on a wage less than Simon Thompsons bonus. What do you suggest, we all lay down and take the terms up the Jacksy. Bring back slave Labour and the workhouse as long as the shareholders get Rich. Stuff the kids they don't need time with parents, the fat n greedy need to get fatter.
Maybe one should have engaged brain 1st and used your favourite tool google before quoting West Coast mainline . Then you would have noticed it doesn't cover the South West. As for future electrification , They have been talking about electrification of The Midland Mainline for over 50 years. Its easy to quote what is planned, but when it happens who knows. Afterall ,by now we should have all been going to the moon , on our holidays.
I'll leave you to argue with yourself scamp as you Don't even know the difference between the South West and West Coast mainline . Good luck with that one .
Scamp you seem to have forgotten your comments about the West Coast mainline that runs nowhere near the South West, so who is misleading.
Small parts of the South West line are electrified not all. At no point have I claimed it wasn't. I said that they would use diesel on that line , nothing more nothing less.
As for the green agenda , my words were that the change in hours due to planes being cancelled was a red herring, mentioned by one director and not repeated by the CEO or any other director since, even when questioned about it.
So really not sure what your problem is. Any chance you can explain because the only person misleading people is yourself as you have said
1 all trains will be electric. Not true
2 North West main line covers the South West not true
Daytrade novice. My South West electric bill is very high for candlelight . Pasties are only for grokels .
As for the West Coast Mainline , that isn't the South West. Different line altogether. At no point have I mentioned that line nor had you.
They use electro diesels or diesels It's quite simple really, they switch between the 2 when the line isn't electrified. Not dismissive just fact.
The South West is covered by diesels
In the afternoons we have collection drivers clearing boxes , post offices and firms. The simple solution would be to get them to do the Lat parcels. As for Sunday working this could easily be covered by all new starters having Sundays included into contracts.
Parcels is the future, we all know that, but the board don't understand the difference between a company that delivers just parcels and Royal Mail that delivers both. They think that if letter volumes drop by 10 % then we deliver to 10% less houses. It probably means we deliver to 3% less properties and the rest get 1 letter instead of 2 , 2 instead of 3 etc. As we get more parcels the time it takes to deliver increases as it takes 10 times as long to deliver a parcel as it does a letter. Add on top customer collections which can take ages as many customers don't do it correctly or don't have items ready and time then becomes precious.
If an office has not cleared, then I have no problem with posties that finish early being sent back out to clear the office. Afterall they are still on pay.
As for picking up future business, I deal with a number of business account managers. They all say the same thing. A number of large companies signed exclusivity contracts with rival courier companies and can only use Royal Mail when yodel etc are struggling; ie at Xmas. They were offered cheap contracts that tied them in no matter how bad a service they receive. As those contracts end they will switch to Royal Mail due to the increased automation of Royal Mail . The problem then will be how delivery copes when it is understaffed already.
Angersharkz, as for the green aspect of the changes, I think that is a red herring, the amount that is moved by plane is minimal and some of the proposed rail movements especially from the South West will be by diesel engines. I think this excuse was put out by one director; when he was put on the spot and was then just blurted out.
Anger sharkz, We have something called LATS. They are late exceptance times items , that arrive in delivery offices after midday in our area. It is costing the company money to get drivers to deliver these items up to 8 at night although some areas are still out at 10pm.
The board believes that by starting everyone later this will be covered by the postman on delivery. They are so out of touch that they haven't worked out that they will then have to pay extra workers to come in and deliver 9am specials and 1 o clock specials. The board sit there every week and throw out another I'll thought out idea, that when challenged don't give any answers to why.
We are all for change , we all know things have to change which is why many have suggested things that need improving, but unfortunately those at the top don't listen.
When Simon Putin joined the board , he was open , asking how we could grow the company, it was a refreshing change from the previous CEOs that were only interested in cuts and savings.
We all knew that the business could grow in so many areas yet had stagnated for years.
Simon Putin has now brought in numerous directors that know nothing about the industry on top wack wages , he has spent millions getting rid of the previous board members, and the company is lurching from one crisis after another created by the board. If these new directors coming in were from DPD, Amazon, Hermes or Yodel then it would be understandable because they could bring ideas to the table but instead they bring in ideas that are unworkable or unachievable.
The latest one , checking on the elderly or vulnerable, is what posties used to do, but that stopped because of increased workload. Now they want us to do it with even more workload.
Delivering longer hours in the winter doesn't mean more work will be done, it will just mean tired posties will move slower and then dawdle pace once it turns dark.
A large number of workers on delivery are part time, many are women and the majority choose to work for Royal Mail because it fits in with childcare. The later start will mean they can no longer pick the kids up from school , so they have a choice , pay for childcare or leave. When your wages are already poor , childcare costs will mean its not worth Carrying on working for Royal Mail.
Clueless Maximas shooting from his ****box again. As an investor you haven't got a clue. You don't even know why change is being proposed and what the company will get out of it. You're a complete dribbler that regurgitates the same change or leave crap. Workers are leaving which is why deliveries aren't completed , do you have a magic worker tree at the bottom of the garden that is going to produce the replacements that already can't be found. Clearly we are heading for more fines for missing the USO daily , what investor encourages that. As for smashing the union, that for some strange reason you think are militant yet haven't been on strike for years even though we haven't had a pay rise anywhere near inflation for 15 years.
Your so clueless that you don't realise that an agency worker costs twice the amount of a permanent postie and your encouraging it.
As your so clued up please explain the benefits of later starts and change because clearly you know better than all the managers and postal workers , so you must be on the board of directors, or your a clueless idiot. I think your the 2nd option.
Wrong Maximas. No companies deliver in the dark on foot. Also many places don't have street lighting. If you have delivered on foot then your entitled to comment otherwise your talking out your arses as usual. If you don't know the delivery it is impossible to see house numbers or names so takes twice as long. If you wear the recommended head torches to read the letters then your focus goes away from the ground around you until your eyes adjust. Those on regular walks (fewer by the day) work on house numbers and names by memory, the rest have to look at the house number.
In most offices a number of staff are already looking for new jobs due to childcare issues
. As we are already struggling to recruit this will make the shabby service we are already offering worse. Hardly an office in the country is clearing but simple Simon Putin doesn't care. The thing he forgets is that most posties chat with customers and once informed about what he is trying to implement, they are disgusted. When it comes to industrial action as before it looks like the public will be on our side.
No dynasaur Mike. At what point have I gone on about the old days? My point is that we aren't a parcel company. My office spends 4to 5 hours on delivery , 75% of that time delivering letters. So how can we be a parcel company. If your actually going to bring something to the table Mike at least make a relevant contribution before making insults because your making yourself look a clown. By the way I didn't work for Royal Mail when rounds were so small unlike you dinosaur.
I think my best bet is to leave all you investors in ROYAL PARCEL to keep bigging up the company and the board , and hopefully at some point some of you may question the direction the board is heading. Good luck.
