So in effect about a 10 to 15 % pay cut for doing far more work and giving up our one day off with the wife and kids. May as well work in a y warehouse or shop for more pay or similar. If they also think they can attract new starters on 25 hours a week on even less pay then they live in cuckoo land. Why would anyone want to work part time ,Used as a packhorse when they can earn more in a bar or restaurant . The board has lost the plot.

I Don't think I've ever seen the workers so disgusted with the CEO or board at Royal Mail. The workers have been insulted with the pay offer and strings attached. Those on delivery are sick to death of being shat on and false promises. Many are leaving and the rest Don't give a **** anymore. A strike will definitely happen and we all feel we have nothing to lose. If it drags on we will just quit and get a job elsewhere on similar or better money for far less work. If people think this will blow over they are kidding themselves . We would rather destroy the company than let these sly bastards get there way.

Not sure where your getting the info on our lorry drivers Scamp , but you are miles off the mark. Agency drivers won't join Royal Mail because they are £10 an hour better off with the agency. Supermarket drivers are also on more. Royal Mail HGV drivers are some of the worst paid. Yes they may get sick pay and holiday pay but terms are not great.

Veteran . DPD, HERMES, TNT and Yodel have all put prices up. Are they all badly run. Not sure how you can have a badly run company making massive profits.

You are correct Oli , it's nothing new and has happened many times to all managers. Last time they kept the same pay but many lost mileage allowances. Last time some managers reverted to being posties again as the number of hours worked compared to pay wasn't that far off a posties but without the screaming they get from regional managers about cut cut cut and lapse lapse lapse all the while. Most of the managers in our area spend most of the day delivering mail and they have become glorified posties. The managers union is useless and many managers aren't members so the Guardian spouting crap about an all out strike is laughable.

Oli. All the managers that don't get EVR are being made to re apply for their own jobs, with a change to job description allowing Royal Mail to reduce the amount many are paid. Can't see many going on strike as lots of them are trying to climb the greasy poll , shafting each other on the way up. Also if they did go on strike, it would make very little difference, because most delivery offices run themselves . We have functioned many times without a manager.

The last time they did a downgrade like this the shares went on a steep rise after a quick fall. Deutsche Bank seem to like to manipulate things. Myself , I'm not worried as I have no desire to sell for a while and keep topping up at the lower prices. Afterall Royal Mail has not been in such a good position for donkeys years. With Special deliveries and Tracked holding up at pandemic lockdown levels ,and letters and d2ds up, it should be a very big profit and good dividend.

We seem to be on a drift again this week. I wonder if It's because most general shareholders don't know the difference between Post Office and Royal Mail. All this bad publicity for the PO seems to be in line with our price drops. You wonder when people will realise that the Post Office is owned by the government NOT royal mail.

Sorry Maximas but your manager contact doesn't have a clue what he is talking about. The kits are being , picked packed labelled and despatched by Royal Mail across the country. Even the 1st day covers department are involved.

They pushed the boat out yesterday and purchased 17000 shares instead of 16000.

Blockfire. The person who was behind the so called firing of staff has been fired. The union are happy with this and the CEO is surrounding himself with like minded people who are looking to expand the company and increase part time workers hours.

Isleworth Spy. Not sure where you have your info from but a number of mail centres are still working through the Christmas backlog. Our figures so far have January as the busiest ever. Our December figures were 17.2% up on last year.
The only thing I can think of is he is working in a mail centre that has had alot of its previous work sent through one of the new parcel sorting centres that handled 10 times the amount they previously handled due to new technology.

I find it very strange that only 16,000 shares are being bought back every day. That equates to 100k at most . Not sure how they are going to buy £200 million worth before March. If they start increasing dramatically then I expect the price will rocket.

Puzzles me Oli. The chief balls up merchant leaves the building, making it certain of no industrial action to come in any way shape or form and the price drops , crazy.

I'm surprised the share price isn't flying this morning with the announcement that Achim Dunnwald has been given the boot this morning. He precided over the shambles of lack of vans over Xmas, not applying for new years day off and the sacking of much needed temps and short term contract employs on Christmas Eve. He is one of Backs boys and has been undermining the new CEO for a while. With his 2 side kicks also going, maybe we can all pull in the same direction.

DHL, It was crap. You said £3 and anyone that didn't get out was a fool. I see only one fool around here and you will see it when you look in the mirror.
