“At what point do you think the major investors will start to come in on this gigantic project ?”
Strongly suspecting that the flood gates have only recently been fully opened, that O&G players will be rapidly partnering up with the financial institutions, following the lead of one of the world’s largest investment funds, Blackrock.
Also that players & banks have now been given the green light by the SNP whose Independence Paper supports the use of oil to pay for the 1st decade of independence should they get it.
Both these inputs imv have recently given massive confidence to O&G players, not just in the North Sea but globally too.
From Opulentia on COPL:
‘…BlackRock, the world's biggest asset manager, told a British parliamentary committee that it will not stop investing in coal, oil and gas, and that its role was not to "engineer a specific decarbonization outcome in the real economy."
…When asked by the committee whether it would support a net-zero scenario that called for "no new investment is needed in coal, oil, and gas," BlackRock said: "No."….’
