If the major shareholder of Launch decides to sell his/her shares, then this is beyond the control of AVCT. They either buy them when they become available or someone else will.

I suspect Susquehanna will have undertaken significant due diligence before committing to their £55m investment, suggesting that they have seen Ava6k data and were suitably reassured to proceed with their investment

Furthermore, we must never forget the sensitivities surrounding trials that involve terminally ill people. Publishing incomplete, inaccurate data and/or speculative comments would be completely unethical.

Todays RNS was never about trial results, all we wanted to hear was reassurance that everything was on track and we had sufficient working cap to keep all the plates spinning.

Yes it absolutely is, especially when it is done so in the context of your assertion that the market is always correct. You claim to be a regular trader of AVCT and by the amount of time you spend on this board at least some of the science must have sunk in?
Yet we all know you are actually clueless about the science, you never contribute to the science discussions and when you did try a couple of week's ago your input was frankly, embarrassing.

My point is, AIM/The market, traders like you do not understand AVCT, they do not understand the science and hence they do not understand the opportunity. This is why the SP is floundering, there are not enough researched LTH's to move the SP and most of us who are invested already and are neither buying nor selling, we are devouring the science input from valued posters and waiting patiently.

Your ongoing attempts to unsettle by creating the perception that 'the market' knows better than researched LTH's is wrong and unwanted, please stop.

We all know your perspectives, your thoughts and your opinions so please leave us and please please don't bore us all with another long response to this post as most of could probably write it for you. And actually we want to read about the science because ultimately this is what will determine the SP

Avacta Group (LON: AVCT) shares are up 4% and change in London this morning as the news comes that AVA6000 has received Orphan Drug Designation from the Food and Drug Administation. Yes, this is important and in two different ways. Firstly as a demonstration of how everything about clinical stage pharma depends upon the FDA and secondly because without this designation it’s not obvious that AVA6000 itself is even economic. So, that it gains that status does indeed mean a lot. The small effect on the AVCT share price is largely because the decision was expected – we’ve a confirmation of extant belief here, not entirely new news.

Truth is, none of us actually know whether conversations are taking place, whether the cash is running out, what exactly it is that Dr Smith and the BOD want to do.
My take is that the 4th cohort is a 'belt and braces' rubber stamp of outstanding safety data, with the specific purpose of maximising the enterprise value of the group.
I've said before that I think the licensing deals, the move to London, the appointment of key staff, bears all the hallmarks of a business being 'window dressed' for a sale.
I have also said that if the trials are as successful as we all believe (and nothing that has happened this week would suggest otherwise), it would be almost unethical for the BOD not to hand this over to a suitor who can take the science much further at a much faster pace to the benefit of millions of cancer sufferers.

What is certain that Dr Smith and the BOD will already know the answers to all of our questions regarding safety and probably efficacy also, the question is, what are they doing with that information? I suspect quite a lot?

There is a lot of discussion on here about the rampers vs bashers and their relative value.
What I will say in the defence of the likes of MM and RAH et al is that they often back up their opinions with research and empirical evidence demonstrating how they arrived at their conclusions. This allows the rest of us to either agree/disagree/discard or question their research. If they do this to support their trading position, then fine, most intelligent LTH's are able to see through this and join in or ignore.
Bashers on the other hand are never able to support their negativity with reasoned evidence, they play only to basic fears via unsupported rumours of 'insider info' or 'fund raises required' etc never supporting their opinions with research. Total clowns to be completely ignored

And don't get me started on charting, which as far as I can see in the context of AVCT is almost entirely useless.
A process of taking the average of historical outcomes across a broad portfolio of companies and industries to predict the SP movement of an almost entirely unique small bio company developing entirely unique science.

I agree that we are all here to make money, but the work that AVCT are undertaking has a huge influence on my decision to invest. If my investment supports that work, even in a miniscule way, then it is an entirely symbiotic relationship and everyone wins
This is also why I find the activities of shorters so disgusting, how can you sleep at night when you are actively betting against a company trying to develop chemo with no side effects. Would TW and his crew actually high five each other if the trial failed and the SP collapsed?
It's the worst face of capitalism when the love of money becomes more important to you than the welfare of your fellow man.

Nothing warranted last weeks rise and nothing is warranting this weeks fall. It's simply AIM manipulation to create movement and trading opportunities for individuals who only earn money when shares move.

Fundamentals remain unchanged and if the share had increased by 10-20-30% today non of us LTH's would be selling just as we are not considering selling on today's manipulated drop

It's always been an investors share, because the science is too complex for your typical trader to grasp. This is why we've had to tolerate all the cr@p about LFT contracts, house purchases etc, as the clowns attempt to stir up short-term sentiment to create daily SP movements. The fundamentals have always been sound.
In some respects the complexity of the science is why the SP has been held back, not because it isn't a great investment but because the opportunity is just too difficult for your typical bottom feeder such as TW to comprehend.
It's like the fable of the Emperors new clothes, and those of us that have done the research and understand the lifechanging benefits of chemo without side effects will be well rewarded.
As every day goes by the 'if' reduces and the 'when' increases and perhaps over the last few days this is becoming apparent to a broader audience?

Something that must be a forefront of the minds of Alastair and the AVCT BOD is that, if it works to the levels we hope, it would be almost unethical for them not to sell to big pharma
It would be wrong for something so revolutionary in the treatment of cancer to be constrained by the limited resources of a small company from Wetherby.
Big pharma would be the most effective route of distributing this incredible technology to the most patients in the least amount of time.
