I wouldn't get you hopes up as I expect the number applied for will be far in excess of the amount available

Tom, we can debate semantics all day and whilst I agree that the comms were not good, nowhere does it specifically say an update on P1a will be provided.

My point was that it clearly appears that the market decided it was an opportunity for a coordinated pump and dump and I’m sure many were spiked as a consequence.

If ever there was any question in my mind that ‘the market’ is rigged then yesterday was the day.
We’ve had RNS’s relating to dose escalation and ODD that have barely shifted the SP. Yet yesterday ‘the market’ decided that an unsubstantiated rumour from the weekend was enough to deploy an army of ramptastic halloween ghouls to spike the SP to over £1.40
The company were subsequently obliged to clarify that Fiona Mc would be discussing FAP in general as opposed to specific AVCT trial results thereby providing the market with the perfect opportunity to drop the SP back 15p

It’s as fixed as a casino slot machine and the poor saps that bought into the spike, funded last night’s ****tails and coke lines on Canary Wharf

Basically, the company are saying;

'Look, we've noticed rumours circulating that Fiona is likely to be disclosing trial results at this weekends FAP conference. It's not happening as it is both the wrong time and the wrong place to do this. Just saying'

On days like to today it's worth reminding ourselves that the fundamentals are exactly the same as they were when we were at 42p. Nothing has changed other than we are closer to read-out.
The pivotal RNS for me was the announcement of DE 2. This was when we knew it was working.
We must remember the company are under no obligation to provide shareholders with a blow-by-blow update on trial progress.
The are however, absolutely under obligation to notify us of failures and delays. The fact we haven't received this tells us all we need to know.

You have to log into your Barclays online (not phone app).
Go into your relevant smart investor account (SIPP, ISA, Investment)
Click 'Corporate activity' It will show you the number of shares you are entitled to at 95p in each separate account
Click 'response required' and you will see 2 boxes one saying you want to take up the offer and one saying you don't
You will also see a box where you can apply for extra shares if available
You will then need to deposit funds to cover both the eligible shares and the extras if you have applied for more
Deadline 3rd Nov

Another thanks for Tom and a reminder of just how good this board can be when we aren't debating Wyn's charts, ultimately concluding that when it comes to AVCT, they are about as much use as Anne Frank's drum kit.

This share is now almost entirely binary, discussing whether it will rise to £1.40, £2.00, £3.00 etc is almost pointless. If it works and we have biopsy based efficacy evidence, then AVCT have proven that their IP can revolutionise the treatment of cancer, the holy grail of the pharma industry.
The value of this IP will not be realised by daily price movements on AIM, it will be a takeover by big Pharma, they will want it and they will pay big for it, the number could be scary.
It's looking increasingly likely that we will get a full data readout (crucially, including biopsy data) during November.

My prediction is that takeover negotiations could occur swiftly, possibly prior to the year end.

I suspect that because of the very modest ratio of shares offered vs shares currently owned, most shareholders will be tempted by what is effectively (at current SP) an instant 7.1% 'profit' 102p Vs 95p. Hopefully this will greater come the allocation date
With Barclays, I am offered the opportunity to apply for more shares than my entitlement, which, if successful, I suspect will be offered from any surplus shares not taken up by existing shareholders.

I'm of the opinion that this week's activities suggest the company is being window dressed for a sale . Whether it's the whole group or just the Therapeutics division will, I suspect, depend on the appetite (and depth of pockets) of the acquirer.

As it's a Saturday and the sun is shining here in Harrogate, I'm also going to treat myself to a strong buy (especially as Barclays have just notified me that I am entitled to apply for another 1949 shares at 95p, which I fully intend to pursue )

Urban, in my opinion the optimum time frame would be as soon as the science is proven beyond reasonable doubt i.e. potentially very soon.
It is the in the interest of cancer sufferers for big pharma to take control ASAP. For AVCT to continue under their own comparatively limited resources will delay development and run the risk of potential future funding issues.
Having said that, I am not expecting AVCT to offer any significant discounts at this early stage, strong P1a data coupled with yesterday's short term funding resolution will position the AVCT BOD in a strong negotiating position.
Big pharma are awash with cash and my guess would be fair value at somewhere between £20-£40

Reflecting on yesterday’s developments coupled with something touched upon by Myles in his excellent review, has led me to the conclusion that AVCT is preparing to sell off the Therapeutics division.
Professor Banerji has virtually confirmed that AVA 6000 works with the only questions remaining around the therapeutic index.
Should this be the case, it would be unethical, bordering on immoral, for AVCT to seek to retain control. Even a £55 mio cash injection will barely scratch the surface of the funds required.
Such a profound move forward in the treatment of cancer requires the resources of a major pharma to turbo-charge the whole PreCision platform with TMAC hot on its heels, something that would take AVCT years.
The Diagnostics division whilst an exciting opportunity in its own right is probably of minimal interest to big pharma. They will undoubtedly recognise that PreCision and TMAC are the lead assets.
Yesterday’s acquisition and the CEO’s comments around further M&As suggests to me that using funds raised from the sale of the therapeutics division would allow AVCT to build a world class diagnostics company.
Centred around Wetherby and Tomlinson labs at Leeds Uni, it would then have the resources to develop and distribute a new class of Affimer based diagnostics that could go on to revolutionise the whole existing MAB based industry.

In that sentence right there you have made an embarrassing attempt to compare the investment opportunity based around the science of Ava6k with the almost entirely unconnected (perceived?) failure of the LFT and BAMS.

Even a slightly ******ed Rhesus monkey would realise that comparing the LFT saga and the science of BAMS with Ava6k and the Pre Cision platform is beyond irrelevant and pointless

I've stressed previously that my belief is the SP is inhibited by the relative lack of understanding within the investment community of the science and thus the opportunity.
We only have to consider the general lack of understanding exhibited by some posters, including wildly inaccurate nonsense from clowns who actually charge for researched advice (TW etal) . And not forgetting some of our more regular contributors (sorry Wyn).

The reality is that only a relatively small number of PI's are fully researched and invested and they aren't selling. The wider AIM market is inhabited by investors/gamblers who are frankly, to thick or lazy to grasp the science.

Successful P1a data will be revolutionary by any measure, will the SP reflect this whilst listed on AIM, regrettably, probably not. Our day will come when the true value is either recognised by serious IIs (NASDAQ) or by corporate activity both of which could happen shortly after publication of positive data
