I know I shouldn't but I just read your last post and was waiting patiently to find out just what point you were trying to make and then bingo, right at the end, the LFT get's mentioned again, twice in one day.

They have previously RNS'd senior appointments, hopefully we will get one when this role is filled.

It's plausible that this could be an internal appointment and that theory would certainly be supported by the early start date, which as has been pointed out, is totally unrealistic in the open market. Perhaps it's a regulatory requirement that they are required to 'go public' with appointments above a certain level?

More interesting for me is why they need this role? Are they struggling to to find interested parties? Despite all the positive news flow are they struggling to find anyone to show real interest and they need to big hitter to get in front of the right people.

We have discussed previously that outside of the company, there is probably only a relatively small amount of people who fully understand the science and the opportunity, the market certainly appears to be oblivious.

We also know that at any given time there are dozens of 'breakthrough' trials in progress, are AVCT struggling to rise above the crowd and bring the AVA6k trial to the attention of key decision makers?

AVCT have proclaimed that they are not 'boosters' and our PR representatives have been conspicuous by their absence.

We tend to convince ourselves that big pharma must know all about the trial and will be all over it, but is this the case? Perhaps it been decided that this appointment is needed to get AVA6k in front of big pharma to spread the word and get some deals done because at the moment in the absence of any RNS's to the contrary it appears no-one is kicking the door down?

I'm the first to agree that this board can often be puerile and a waste of time but the 'Question' thread from last night/this morning shows this BB at it's very best.

That's a serious big hitter they are looking for and they either have a specific person in mind or they need to be prepared to pay £200k + IMO.

My guess this is Shaun Chilton's appointment. As the non exec brought into supervise the 'commercial phase' this appointment is his eyes and ears on the ground doing the leg work he no longer has the time/inclination to do.

The point I was making in my earlier post Hanoi was that the efficacy of dox is well understood and documented, therefore the results expected in P1b can be predicted with much greater chances of accuracy than if AVA6k was a novel drug.

We know that the patient cohorts selected for P1a were chosen specifically because dox was not the standard of care for their cancer types, they were identified as 'dox naïve'.

The fact that several of them have remained on treatment due to seeing their cancers paused, is a welcome but almost certainly unplanned/unexpected 'bi-product' of the incredible specificity of AVA6k

It is the very specificity to FAPa that is the real breakthrough here and the fact that we haven't yet reached a MTD only adds to the success of this trial. The 'delays' that we are seeing as the SDMC attempt to find an MTD is actually fantastic news and further emphasises the incredible specificity of AVA6k and the subsequent value of the entire Pre/Cision platform.

I am very relaxed about expected efficacy results at P1b because when we move to a cancer type where dox is currently the standard of care (STS) then we already know, from decades worth of research, exactly what dox will do to cancer cells when delivered in 'therapeutically meaningful' doses. Normal P1b COS levels really do not apply here.

Jive, just to add to your post, AS made it very clear at the AGM that unlike novel drug trials, efficacy is already well understood. He also confirmed that when cleaved from AVA6k the chemistry of doc was unchanged.

We mustn’t lose sight of the fact that the key metric of this trial is the specificity of AVA6k to FAPa.

And the fact that we are well into cohort 6 and still no MTD RNS tells us all we need to know about how well that is going. 👍

Yes, we have to complete P1b to meet regulatory compliance however we mustn’t forget that efficacy is already confirmed because, as the saying goes, dox will be dox.

Make a note in your diary, because in a couple of years time we will all wish we had taken today's opportunity to relieve HC of more of their shares.

As has been pointed out by Groot, hostile bids in Pharma/Biotech are very rare. Firstly, it's an incestuous business and many of the senior execs know each other and have worked together. You only have to look at the CV's of Fiona Mc, Eliot Forster and Shaun Chilton for proof of that.

It is also a very holistic industry and whilst shareholders are important, developing ground-breaking cancer therapies is not seen as a purely commercial opportunity to be bought and sold.

Perhaps most importantly however is that a hostile takeover will likely lead to a haemorrhaging of AVCT talent. What value the company and the PreCision pipeline without, for example, Fiona Mc, Neil Bell, Andrew Saunders and their teams?

Also worth considering that an aggressive suitor could lose the support of third party partners such as Daewoong, Tomlinson labs, Bill Tap at MSK etc etc

A low ball bid is entirely possible but can't see it being hostile.

If you park any emotion and just consider the chance of success/commercialisation vs the current trial status vs the size of the addressable market then 97p is an absolute bargain.

I'm sure many of us (including myself) loaded up at way above 97p when we knew a lot less than we do today, hindsight eh?? Wish I'd kept some powder dry !!

Even if a raise/dilution is required at some point, I am sure anyone sitting on 97p shares will do unbelievably well.

We don't actually want MTD to be days away, we want MTD to take as long as possible. The higher the MTD and the more cohorts it takes to find it, the more valuable the platform becomes.

I understand that we all want news/updates/progress but we mustn't lose sight of the fact that the sole reason that we aren't already well into P1b is because the P1a trial is exceeding all expectations.

Worth reiterating that we passed the point where AVA6000 demonstrated it's ability to replace naked dox as the standard of care several months ago. That point is unequivocal, especially in relation to safety and tolerability and almost certainly in relation to efficacy.

We are now simply waiting to understand just HOW much better it is.

I remember that AS & EF addressed media coverage at the AGM Q&A.

EF made it clear that AVCT were not prepared to 'boost' the SP with exaggerated claims however once P1a was complete and fully peer reviewed then they would publish all the findings to mainstream media.

I think the emphasis that the company was moving in to a 'commercial phase' is supported by the appointment of Concilium and Shaun Chilton.

Don't read anything negative into the current news vacuum and languishing SP, they are 'getting on with it'.
