I think that's a very reasonable deduction PL, if no side effects and evidence of efficacy why would you hold the earlier cohorts on the lower dosing levels? no good reason IMO

However for fear of being labelled a 'fantasy based spreadsheet projectionist' I'd be interested to hear what our brilliant minded 'critical thinkers' like BV make of the suggestion.

Correct Hanoi, however all RAH and myself are doing is attempting to join up the dots that suggest if a critically ill patient receives a novel treatment that halts their disease progression without side effects, it's not unreasonable to deduce that their oncologist will recommend continuation of that treatment uninterrupted.

I'm no oncologist RAH, but logic would suggest that the only reason for a 'dosing holiday' would be to mitigate toxicities/side/effects.

We know these are not present (no DLT's yet) so I can't see any other reason why treatment that has halted disease progression would be withheld/paused. It would be unethical to do so.

We haven't had the LFT/missed deadlines for a couple of days, or the AS reputation for over promising and under delivering/lack of commercial nous ...and it's definitely gone quiet on the death spiral front.

Jive, very interesting point you raise about the relative size of the STS and breast cancer markets, must also remember that we have ODD and should AVA6k qualify for 'unmet need' designation (which I'm sure a significant reduction in side-effects would provide) then AVA6k has 7 years of tax breaks and protection from competition in the US.

What is that worth?

Furthermore, how many front line oncologists are going to prescribe naked dox once they are aware that a kinder more effective version is available? Answer, zero.

Until yesterday, I don't think any of us here really comprehended what we were sitting on and I'm damn sure the market doesn't have clue. It's only now that the enormity of what we are siting on is becoming apparent to a relatively small group of well researched investors (I'd guess less than 50 people outside of the company)

PL asked in an earlier post if it might be possible for cohort 1/2/3 patients to be moved up to cohort 5 dosing levels as this has now been demonstrated to be safe? Great question? which we can't yet be answered, but the answer could actually be mind-blowing for the TAM of dox

More patients, more cancer types, more frequent doses, higher doses, longer dosing periods. I actually think Neil Bell was wrong and they actually don't yet know what they are sitting on. I don't think anyone has fully grasped the potential of this opportunity and when they do £200 ex china could be understated. Time for Shaun Chilton to step up.

I’d be very interested to understand which of the earlier cohorts are still receiving AVA6k. Perhaps we will find out at the AGM? I don’t see why they can’t update us on that point if asked to do so.

Logic would suggest it will be the later cohorts as the dox dose is higher and therefore the therapeutic benefit should be higher too?

I suspect that seeing therapeutic benefits in dox naive patients was an unexpected, yet welcome, ‘bi-product’ of the initial aims of the trial.

I suspect there will be few front line oncologists and oncology nurses at the trial sites, who will be sharing the incredible results with colleagues/associates and their families.

These front line carers will have long term relationships with the trial participants and will have witnessed their decline first hand. To see that decline paused and the relief and hope that brings to them and their families I can only imagine must be palpable.

If Avacta announced that they had cured cancer, ended global warming and found Shergar, the SP would probably only go up 5p

You remind us of an important point RD, somewhere out there are several families, who, resigned to the fact that they were to very soon lose a loved one agreed to this trial probably as the last roll of the dice.

For those families to still have their loved ones with them and incredibly, to be told that their deterioration has been halted, plus, with negligible side-effects, it is likely that the patients are almost certainly feeling better too.

It would seem therefore that it's not an either/or, it's multiple cohorts and possibly/probably multiple cancer types, the news just gets better and better.

They reference 'different dose cohorts' which would suggest that it is not only potential STS patients in cohort 5 that are seeing the benefits of extended exposure to AVA6k
