NDN71, I’m not sure if this is aimed at me or not, but to be clear I have no issue with Polygon owning what they have. But I’d say you don’t want one II owning too much. I’d be happy for them to stop buying now. Already, it looks like they and the MM’s are playing silly buggers with the SP.

Reading the rules, it looks like they have two days to report it? On the form it says they made the trades yesterday, so they could have delayed a bit more. But perhaps chose to let SNG know after market close today, then of course SNG had to post the RNS.

For the more knowledgeable members on here, please let me know if I’ve misinterpreted it.

Tattyhead, I’m not 100% sure of the rules on TR1’s… when would Polygon have had to tell Synairgen? Is it just the next day, i.e. might Synairgen have only found out after market close?

I certainly don’t think Synairgen are in cahoots with Polygon.

The cynic in me say it was a late RNS so it sneaks under the radar and doesn’t move the SP materially higher, as they want to continue buying at lower levels!

Buying on behalf of a big pharma?

My gut feeling is that they are simply just building a position because they are confident in the company and think they can make a good turn. As fruitsnveg says, would be nice for a few of them to slug it out and really get this share price motoring.

Hanoihank/BeContrarian, I agree. And £2 was an exaggeration. But I think even at £5 we would be disappointed to see SNG taken out for that.

Certainly don’t want Polygon drop buying all the way up to 30%+ at these levels and then going for a hostile bid backed by a large pharma. At 30% they have to make a bid to remaining shareholders at the highest price paid over the previous year.

I seriously doubt this would happen. But you’d be gutted to have to sell out for circa £2! We ideally want another zero on the end of that.

The one I felt sorry for was AstraZeneca…provided the vaccine at cost and got a right beating for it.

I agree with everything Ghia says, but even so, if you’d have taken a poll of SP predictions on the back of this news, the majority would have been around £2.
I consider it a buying opportunity and have topped up. I also agree with Docdaneeka that 150p should not happen again unless bad news arrives with Sprinter.

Come on Ghia, OK we might not have been expecting £3, but to be only at 165p and where we were a few weeks ago at the end of September on the back of this news is mildly disappointing! I'm sure most would have expected £2.

By the looks of it, Seres Therapeutics went from $3.74 to around $37. I’d be very pleased if SNG went to £15! However, I also notice Seres have crashed all the way back down to $6.

When you get these dramatic rises, they typically then fall back quite sharply from their peak. Timing the exit perfectly will no doubt be very difficult.

I’ll be happy with £12. That would be mortgage gone and a very nice car on the drive! Although in reality I’d likely just reinvest it and try to retire earlier!
