Nope, look at the time of the trade - 11:46 - then the spread at that time - 6.50 to 6.75 = a buy for sure at 6.90. The price also ticked up suddenly at that point.

Whopping 967k buy. No attempt to build the holding in chunks - just straight in at a premium to the asking price at the time. Encouraging at a time when the SP has been struggling.

Well he (HH) has said the strategy would be 'complementary' so we can assume it will involve gold. I think there are two things going on currently. Firstly we have one, maybe two larger holders bailing out in the last day or two. Secondly there has now been a focus on fundraising because it's emphasised in the announcement. But we knew that anyway. I think a deal is coming because it's not like HH to mention it positively in the short term without substance as it seems to me he is of a fairly cautious conservative nature. HH is an ex investment banker and he knows that in order to achieve a successful fundraising they need to have something that will give the SP a positive fillip so I am confident and continue to hold firm. There could also well be a substantial boost from BGML of course. It is now understood there are firm developments taking place in India to boost the gold sector.

Indeed. I doubt they would mention the two words "elusive proposition" unless they felt they had their own solution. The SP continues to rise and if you survey the long term charts there is a steady climb going on here which is stating clearly that this company is on the UP. And this is despite having a seller in BD over the past few months.

Of course Kolar doesn't currently have the expertise! Duh Einstein. Ref the fintech route it seems to me from company communications that one possibility might be a reversal into Kolar of an existing start up (using Kolar as a vehicle). It makes sense. They are clearly fairly confident of investment should they go down the route. Fund raising will be no bad thing and will be welcomed by the market if it is deemed to be a strategically good move and with the right people on board. That's the thing to understand, Kolar does not need to have the expertise... that will come with the transaction.

I agree. The drop is overdone and the MM's leapt on it and marked this down within seconds of the RNS. No one has cottoned onto the fact that GMSI project is alive and well. BGML is alive and well and would be huge for Kolar if it takes off and the chances look much better than for a long time. The fintech move, as you say, looks very promising and HH is hinting strongly that funding would be available. Don't forget that Harvinder has city pedigree as a successful investment banker ;)

I see shorter term developments now happening at BGML which 'could' put a rocket under the sp here so no I haven't sold any here but still comfortably in profit. This has been marked down sharply on quite frankly modest selling. It can move back up as quickly. The fall will spook some I guess but there we go. I think what you foresee is a return to what we had a few months back - nothing happening but I doubt it. There is now a concerted move to get Kolar back into production starting with the tailings and expanding from there. There are at least eight significant unexploited deposits there and with the sea change in Indian govt policy we are going to see developments here for sure... With the fintech now thrown in for intriguing interest. Far from walking away I would see this drop as an opportunity. It's so easy to just go with the flow but you don't make money that way.

Only limited internet access today as I'm on holiday. What do we make of the announcement? Well, GMSI valuation upgraded from £2.83m to £3.0m. Looks on track to start a producing gold mine poss. in 2017, albeit less overall resources than I expected up to this point. Press articles and media News on BGML has been validated by the company. Keep in mind Kolar always tend to assume a conservative position but HH has indicated developments could come at any time in next few months. The possible diversification into fintech is v interesting but not sure yet what this might involve exactly? Most important IMO is the confirmation that the company is not going to go insolvent, delist, or anything like that. Sufficent resources now to Q3 2017. Very good news and gives plenty of scope for developments to progress and take their course.

Yes we will def be getting the interim results this coming week. Could be tomorrow, and within it I'm sure they will update on both GMSI and BGML. Perhaps even more importantly the outcome or status of the strategic review. I believe the gold price rally and the new government policy on fast tracking gold mining development via auctions are both potential game changers for Kolar but let's see what they have to say.

Jolly aha... your tone has changed somewhat, the 'buy' recommendation has gone ;) and the 'fact' you weren't posting here earlier this week when the SP was rising rapidly and suddenly re-emerge when it falls back suggests to me that you bailed out.... ;). All classic signs anyway.... Prepared to say what price you got? But getting back to your point re the NAV as per the BS IS a fact. I would agree that doesn't guarantee that is what the company would be disposed for in such an event but I think it offers some cushion to investors at this level, certainly. They will issue interim results next week and I wouldn't be surprised to see a small increase in the NAV. I certainly am very confident we will see an increase in asset value in the full results come the end of this year. And as I've said many times this company has been run prudently, has no debt, and has survived one of the worst gold bear markets for many years. Exciting times here for sure. Happy Easter old bean

Yes quite. I actually feel quite irked about the whole thing.. and I'm not even invested here. Justin Waite is frankly c*ap and his interviews are frankly about as much use as a chocolate teapot. It's not ALL bad news because they are clearly winning business from some govt depts which will bring in reliable but relatively modest revenue (six figure sums) streams. But They need a or more of these contracts to move closer to break even IMO. There was one other thing I took from the interview. Its strategic. Blamire was talking down the other two lines of business (intelligence and resilience). He was saying they are a cyber security company. That is their focus that will use the other areas to cross sell (if they can). To me it's no coincidence that he is doing this now that KB has left. KB was the founder of the Intelligence division. His baby. So, what I take from this is a coded message to tell you not to expect a lot from intelligence or resilience - they are not core business and will not be given a lot of management attention. They may even eventually divest I reckon.
