Today is a Low Volume Oil contract changeover day. Very easy to move financial instalments in low volume, as I’m sure you are aware with UK listed stocks like Tullow, Enquest & Metro. So who moves the stocks, why do they move in concert ? Easy to think large holdings being dumped, but it’s not due to that.

Interesting the impact on the Oil price due to just 3.2m barrels being release from the US strategic reserve. Looks to be more to do with politics as US inflation is 6.2%. However Governments need inflation to reduce covid debt. Back up next Week….

Slift & BumBum, many thanks for taking the time to reply with that crucial information. My understanding is that the funds transfer transaction takes place around two weeks after the valuation. This is a key indicator as to what is currently occurring and timeline involved. Hint hint.

Stock now at 48.25 & above the 50 day moving average at 48.02. Next target is the 200 day at 49.04. Day-Traders selling themselves short ?

RSI up, MACD up & Money Flow all rising on a Monthly chart. Unless anything changes targets 57 to 60+ in the coming Weeks. Oil forecast to stay elevated at these levels throughout next year.

In fairness to the Industry, if you strip out the Industry churn. The PI traded volume is pathetic. This is an issue with the UK Stock Market & possibly a sign of the times. Folks are less affluent, especially shareholders. The recent induced Index Fund sales has increased the Free-Float & it will take time for PI’s to soak that up to tighten supply.

The Algo that controls the share price is currently set to respond to the movements in Oil & nothing else. At some point that will change to reflect the extra value that has been input from PI’s. Hopefully sometime this quarter. But that depends on those pulling the strings, whatever is most profitable for them.

Basic: sell high buy low. 1. Retail are not allowed to sell short, but you can use speadbetting Retail products. 2. Hedge Funds are allowed to borrow, sell short & buy low to cover. 3. The Industry extensively uses shorts. All the Industry trades that you see incorporate shorts to ensure that there are no losses incurred. Some shorts are non-profit & some are loss making. Used as insurance as part of a larger trade, so overall positive to the trade.

Supply & Demand. Induced sellers increases supply & holds the stock doon. Restricted supply forces the stock up. Stocks with low Free Float, large proportion held by Funds, are difficult to manipulate. There’s been some sizeable PI sales recently. You know the stock oscillates up & down so why sell at the bottom. Especially ‘below’ the 50 & 200 day moving averages. Why do you think they exist.

Nothing occurs for Months. Over time PI’s get demoralised & eventually sell. Meanwhile the sold stock is accumulated & then oddly one day the sp corrects to the up side. Sound familiar ?

JMAX hi, good question: ‘Who is manipulating, how & why’, do you really think that you will get an answer to that Industry sensitive info on these Retail bb’s. That said it’s surprising how many people that do work in the Industry can’t answer that either, as it’s only specific to part. The how encompasses many aspects & why, simply to stimulate business activity & profits. UK Financial Services generated £76bn in tax last year, impressive isn’t it.

I think it’s fair to say that TLW will be £1 one day due to the under investment in an unloved industry & increasing demand for the commodity. In the meantime the Industry will have it’s pound of flesh from PI’s. In the coming Weeks Oil might be in the $90s & currently Tlw does look to be forming a bottom, while ‘held’ at this price level.

Haha, well actually their both single so they might do. In simple terms a company ‘sells’ it’s shares at floatation. And as such the shares can be viewed as being ‘completely separate’. The Industry which manages the shares now has to devise a way to make money from them & that is what you see. Tlw can reach £1 but only if enough external value ie from PI’s has been input, doesn’t look like that will be achieved this year.

Bailiff, it should be obvious, the low volume at 66.22p offered the opportunity for an index trade. If you knew what goes on in the background you probably wouldn’t want to touch the stock market. That said some do make large gains. I know two traders that have recently bought new porsche’s, one petrol & one a £160k ev.

It’s possible that around 45p is the bottom & if so it would signal rising bottoms. The recent walking down process has been conducted with relatively low volume & as such the stock can rise with same. The large sale at 55p took out a lot of congestion at that price level, making it easier to sail through. Tullow may be a different story over the Month.

Dear PI’s, the piggy bank has been raided yet again. 65 to 40 & 55 to just below the averages. But please invest & replenish & we will allow the stock to rise to 65p before repeating the value extraction. Little wonder the FT100 is only up by around 266 points in 21 years. Tesla’s just reached $1000’s, good job it’s not listed on the UK market or it would be lucky to be a couple of hundred.

There’s absolutely no reason for the current ‘walking-down’ process, apart from to induce activity. No large seller in the background. Sadly a thinly traded stock is susceptible & this is just part of a larger trade. A yearend market rally should cause a trend change. But that depends on those pulling the strings.
