Whether it was intentional on the companies part declaring as an interim dividend , not sure,but I think it should have been a final dividend as it was from end of year results , last years end of year divi was classed as a final. The rules change if declared as a final divi and they can’t cancel after ex dividend date without facing legal claims for the money.

Where an interim dividend has been declared pursuant to the articles of association the directors can cancel the dividend at any point before it is actually paid. Unlike a final dividend, the members have no right to sue for the payment of an interim dividend.
