I know I moan as much if not more than most about this share, but my policy and I believe the best policy (short of wars and pandemics) is to ignore pretty much everything, keep reinvesting your div and think long term. I do get disappointed with things here, but basically other investments are for excitement, adventure, opportunities etc.This is for keeping and slowly gaining.

There is something pretty unique about this investment. Dividend go up,profits up , decent buyback, and yet on a day the markets are generally up, we go down. Its almost we are never allowed to enjoy the benefits of decent performance here

To be fair they are doing pretty decently so far this year. Pretty decent growth for this company and the divi to follow. I just feel there is a money making opportunity tomorrow.

IF!!!! they fly up in the morning on the back of the results. I could be very tempted to sell them,they never seem to maintain any gains they make and tend to drop back pretty sharpish. Not sure why you can't have both,Aviva seem to manage it. I bought these at 2.65 , in pretty rapid time they grew to 3.19( I believe) I call that decent growth. Today was typical of how this as become. Having a decent day doing well, then meekly surrenders nearly all the gains at the death .

Probably all true, but in my experience with this company, good results and good news have very little positive long term effect on the SP , and God help us if one part if the business performs below expectations. That will definitely drag us down, regardless of overall pperformance.

Update usually goes like this. Excellent results, increase in profits, positive news regarding dividend. However there is always one small department that as had a poor performance , that grabs the headlines. Net result SP drops.

I guess I find l&guess very frustrating. Yet in many ways they couldn't be behaving much better for my personal needs. I consider these my , when all my other money has gone investment. So I re invest my divs and watch my pot grow. Cheaper they are the more I get. Then the hope is if I ever need them they will be high at the time, problem is it doesn't stop me feeling like I'm invested in a lifeless lame duck.

You're right people never got laid off when companies got tax breaks. The only thing my boss couldn't afford was pay rises for his staff. In fact he openly said that we did need wage rises after we had tax cuts. So much for rewarding hard work, so much for feeding greed.
