I've said before I don't claim to be clever enough to understand the merits of buyback etc, however in my time here I've never seen this react positively to market news, when the ftse reached record highs last year this went nowhere. This growth this year is something very unusual for this share and there as to be some reason, given its reluctance to move in the past I'm willing to give our new boss and his buybacks some credit.

Well that maybe true, but it as to start sometime and for some reason, and at the moment we are seeing growth we haven't seen for years for some reason and let's hope decisions are being made that make it continue. Who knows if that can happen? Meanwhile after years of stagnation I'm grateful for the improvement.

True its not a noted growth share, however its up over 5% so far this year, I'm predicting a little higher by years end, let's say 7% add the dividend to that and its pretty good use of anyone's dosh.

That would be the post that has now been removed, after all you wouldn't want to have the self confidence to admit you made a mistake would you.

I'm all for pension funds being used for inferstructure etc, the problem with it is, business will just see it as an opportunity to rip the country off yer again.

Everything we all know about this being a good source of income is true, however it would be better if it did decide eventually to act in a positive manner when positive news happens. It will never reach £3 without some form of positive response to events.

Well interest rates get cut and prior to expectations this goes backwards . It does tend to have a habit of reacting in a negative manner to good news.

I try and keep it simple, not worry about how good it was a few years ago. I look where I am on the first of January and see where I am the following 31st December. The question then is have I made good use of my money. This year I'm expecting 7% growth plus dividend. Very happy with that, plus the compound effects of re investing dividend.

This won't get anywhere near £3 for a minimum of 18months .It will finish this year (give or take) at 2.46 .Which represents a very acceptable 7% ish growth plus dividend.

Overall the Ftse is having a pretty quiet, v slightly negative day today anyway. So I consider this as a pretty positive outcome for us.
