@ Disciple13 Agree testing will become the norm. The Norway vaccine deaths are likely to be coincidence but it does need investigated. (BMJ article). Societal freedoms have adapted over the years to deal with threats to life, this will be similar and we will get used to them even if we do not like them!

The government needs to be honest with people about what restrictions will be in place in the coming months. The idea that once the death rate subsides due to vaccine roll out means it will become manageable like flu is unlikely to be the case. The virus requires to be suppressed and not allowed to run riot, otherwise the risk of a variant developing that makes vaccine less effective is very real.

It is also cost effective to bring in house if projected activity greater out sourcing for a sustainable period. It's a permanent contract not time limited. It also shows ambition. Very pleased with progress on all fronts to date.

kfordearp think you summarised Mologic/GAD well. Not sure I agree with conclusion, a lot of tests will be required and would be surprised if they can set up supply and facilities to satisfy the demand for tests. It's a big pie.

The lamp test has been around for a while. It seems to be reasonably accurate but has scalability and cost issues. It is not a LFT.
