You must have short memory, the last one took us out of the EU which has proven to be a very expensive for all of us! Time will tell if this one is any better but to early to tell at present imv.

Taking cash can cost more money than cards for many businesses. Additional costs include banking charges, increased insurance, manpower to count and bank takings and increased theft potential. This is why many bars and restaurants do not accept cash now as it improves their profitability overall.

There is no doubt that VCP has challenges. Revenue down circa £120m and gross and net margins down. On the plus side saving are coming through and more identified in the coming year, albeit mitigated by increased interest costs somewhat. When macro economic headwinds ease I can see VCP being very profitable. Having said that, the longer the wait for a upturn in activity the more risk longer term as VCP will need to reduce debt sooner rather than later.

You will need to explain why the FDA will not happen under current government these are not new licences.

PMG is heavily involved in renewables not sure reform will help on that front!

The potential to generate meaningful free cash flow: Parkmead’s strategic land position at Pitreadie forms a

core part of the potential Glenskinnan Renewable Energy Park in Aberdeenshire. The integrated scheme is

being designed to deliver 98MW of wind generated capacity across 14 turbines, alongside 20MW of solar

PV and 30MW of battery storage. In our view, even at €60/MWh, Glenskinnan has the potential to generate

significant net cash flow to Parkmead (c€3m per annum), which with a largely fixed cost base has the

potential to increase to up to c€5m per annum at €90/MWh.

Buzz "We do have a massive tax break that was talked about months ago as a positive if someone was to buy the company, no one mentions it anymore, not sure why." The Dec 12 RNS says losses associated with Oil part of business. My reading is Centica have the tax loss when oil business is sold.

@Finley what has your latest statement got do with BDEV, the demand for new housing is not going to disappear regardless the colour of the government. As for not thinking affordable rents is a good thing bemuses me. Taxpayers fund housing benefits, that pays large sums to landlords, reducing that can only be beneficial, just something to think about!

@Finley1 margins may well be tighter for social housing compared to private builds historically, but you seem to miss the point about volumes and relationship with margins.

This is a master developer partnership for larger projects that is likely to include a mix of social/private housing plus commercial/infrastructure builds. The various development projects will be built by various construction firms depending upon their expertise at variable sector margins. BDEV will be able to bid for whatever elements of a development it sees as suitable for its business.

It is a great opportunity for BDEV, a proactive investment that could be very beneficial in improving volumes in coming years, interesting times.

Knee jerk reaction that will be short lived. The economic mess left by previous government will drive the measures (tax rises/spending cuts) required to tackle deficits uncovered! This was going to happen anyway as the deficit (or most of it) was known about before election! The budget in October will determine impact on house builders until then it is all speculation!
